everyone here should contribute into making a track, who's
up for it?

whoever replies first does the start, then the next poster
adds more onto it etc etc.

will be a good laugh i reckon

id join in the fun except i have a feeling this will be
pretty fast paced and i dont need anymore distractions from
writing two papers for college finals.

It needs more organization/rules to effectively take
advantage of mass creative power. One idea would have a
linear bassdrum/highhat beat 'bum tsh bum tsh bum tsh...' or
similar beat. Everyone is assigned one bum tsh to IDM-ify
(appetite for disktruction style). Having musical
notes/tones on any bum tsh is optional, however there should
probably be the rule that they must be the same scale like c
major (the white keys). Also a bum tsh can optionally have
effects that extend beyond the timeframe of a normal bum tsh
(ex. like reverb that echoes off past other bum tsh's). Then
the bum tsh's are all assembled sequentially.

despite the vibes, havent there been a few tacks made here
where they decided on the bpm and key, then each person made
one of the instruments?

Hang on...

Perhaps we have certain groups of sequencers, so one group
uses Ableton Live (me included), another Fruity Loops,
another Cubase (if anyone here still uses that pile of
shit), etc. so then it would be totally "open source".

im in with ableton

this sounds cool

yeah i think we should just kind of just add on to the
length of the song, like just get a feel for what would come
next, so it would just be pure creativity, and no standard
this or that.

all we need is someone to start something.,

yeah i had a final term paper to write and i still havent
written it, i hope i dont fail

maybe everybody just makes an individual track and then we
just put them through a blender and transpose, add some
crossfade magic, and presto, another one bites the dust by
the queen
