ha good choice - very good. i watched it last year
recommended by xtl and was totally blown away. when i now
searched for something for today i searched in imdb things
related to primer.

i love movies which seem simple but you have to watch them
at least two times to udnerstand them.

primer
a scanner darkly
brick (higly recommended)

Lives of Others wasn't that good. If you're downloading
Tarkovsky, you should get Andrei Rublev. You have already
seen this..

You should like A Scanner Darkly. The book's better, natch.

Recently watched season's 1&2 of The Venture Bros. again.
That's a decent laugh.

2009's slated as a big year for cinema... there's been
nothing much on for the last couple of months from what I've
seen.

i didn't know you wanted a GOOD movie... Hostel 2 isn't, but
it's very much a "Saturday" sort of film.

Honestly, Paprika is so much better, so I'll second that.

The Quiet Earth or The Last Man on Earth or any movie where some guy
is the last man on earth, but really isn't.

a "vs." does not belong between the two movies though... as
the first Solaris is all about Anima and the new one about
Animus.... both good.

Probably that it's one of the most ineptly made films ever.
Worse, even, than Robo Vampire, and that's saying something.

Well at least it wasn't two films in one like Robo Vampire.
What's great about it is it feels quite earnest in its
ineptness. It's not really trying to be a bad funny cult
film, that would be awful. It tries to be an adventure, thus
producing something new and worthwhile.

Children of the Living Dead This is really bad and Tom Savini is in it.
Caught it on cable on demand on the horror channel.

Midnight Cowboy I just watched this again the other day, and
that same night adult swim ran the Futurama that spoofs it.
I was well pleased.

Mononoke-hime (Princess Mononoke) I thought Howl's Moving Castle was good and I
really like Spirited Away, but this one is prob my fav for
some reason.

I found the original Solaris incredibly boring. There's even
the scene in which one guy is thinking for about 5 minutes
in a car (you don't know what's he thinking of, you just see
him driving car and thinking). 2002 version is fine though.

But that scene is so futuristic! It's the future, didn't you
see it? The futuristic infrastructure?

What did you end up watching anyway?

The 2002 Solaris wasn't bad at all but all it made me feel
was the need to see the Tarkovsky version again.

Let's be honest. This movie is good and futuristic...if you
live in '70s.
