Has any of the forum members read "The Republic" by the
Greek philosopher Plato? It is very interesting but some is
complete crap.

That was silly but I laughed. It's not even funny, except it
was.

I know, it's so childish, but once the laugh is out, that's

as far as I remember Plato wrote a sweet justification of
hot man 2 man action

If it's Greek, isn't it more likely to be Man2Boy action?

Well... modern Western philosophy, yes. We also have those
literal cunts to blame for the bible being taken on face
value by so many imbecilic Christians.

Yes, read it. Much more than simply an outline of a society,
very important theoretically and speculatively. Obviously a
blueprint for tyranny as much as democracy... Still, not to
be avoided if one is serious about either politics or
philosophy.

Man2Man action, hot or not, was surprisingly cautiously
treated by Plato (generally, not sure about this book in
particular), although homosexuals should feel happy (even
gay) for being in good company.

and urns.

I use to really like philosophy until I started meeting
people who were into philosophy. I've never met a larger
group of people whom don't practice what they preach.

i couldn't agree more.

what ive found is that most of us (us being philosophy
majors) enjoy the philos for the arguments made and not as
much for the actual concepts behind them, which makes the
whole study a lot more tolerable.

it seems like a lot less bullshit when you stop thinking
that youre actually trying to prove the existence of god or
morality or some other intangible thing.
