sounds like jiddisch/hebrew mischpoke
most commonly used for kin/family
usually with a negative connotation in modern days :/

hah, didn't think anyone would get it.

my brain will sometimes vomit out a sample, or, well, a
video clip, and just randomly yesterday my brain is all,
"kid, you're mispooka now," from TV series ~the wire~, the
sketchy jewish lawyer talking to bald herc. it was distantly
related to something else i was thinking about, and, boom,
here's a video clip of a tv show we haven't seen in months.
and then i'm thinking: yeah, that's clearly yiddish slang
for "family" or something but i couldn't even spell that
close enough to google it

then i think: this is also a very silly-sounding word; let's
make a shit thread about it

and now you've figured it out and answered my question.
which is actually something google is incapable of. thanks
ijonspeeches. thanks xltronic

but sounds like the word was used perfectly in the scene.

ha, didnt expect that.
glad i could help though.
i think mel brooks may have used it in his robin hood movie
aswell.

its easy to pronounce "family" with a certain dislike.
dont know a family that gets along perfectly or is fnd of
every distant relative.
however in germany the word mischpoke made it into the
dictionary describing scum in 1941. thats fucked up.
