I have UI Blue up on Ebay now!

Just a teaser before the UI Red comes up...
Listened to it (red) for the first time in years, it's so
fresh in its simplicity and raw attitude. I want more of
that from RdJ now when everything they do (RePhLeX posse)
tends to be desktop overkill. Back to Joyrex kicking 4 to
the floor, 808+101 acid thrills with "real" synths. Cheap
but fun!

Richard has next to nothing to do with UI Blue.

Welcome to the messageboard, swedish-mate.

Whatever, when I bought it way back in 1992, everyone took
this as an AFX record, it was even sold as AFX in the
store...today we know that Dred is the man behind it...but
as one of the men behind RePhLeX, Richard must have
something to do with it...

Doesn't it have 'The Kosmic Kommando' on the run out
grooves? The whole point behind the Universal Indicator
collection was that they where faceless. No pretty packing,
no funky names just the raw acid to mix at your field rave
or whatever. :> I have no idea who said these where by the
twin but a guy at Rephlex said some where stamped as such
for stocking reasons or something.

Green is worth most.

Anyway. I don't care who did these and actually wish they
where still a mystery. It kinda ruined it when all the hype
about them surfaced. I wanted them because I like Acid not
because the groove glitch that lasts for 2 seconds on Red
was made by Aphex Twin accidentally knocking a switch at the
wrong time or something. }:>

I don't have them on mp3 anymore. Your best bet is to go to
Warpmart and pick the mix CD of them up. They where made to
be mixed so this is the best way to hear them.

Dude, I have 'Green' still but the tracks are in the wrong
order but since there is no real order it don't matter. I
can let you have those if you desire. :> If you like them
then you can get the Mix CD hmm?

I bought my two, red and blue for $7 each...new from the
record stands...I even sold them but managed to buy them
back for the same sum, I said that I missed them so
much...yeah right, I just heard about the big bucks some
nuts are paying for them...

No. I have them. And the only ones I have seen go for over
that are 'Green' not Blue as it's pretty common. Green is
the one to sell or horde. }:>

One funny thing is that a Universal Indicator is a chemical
analyzer that goes from blue, violet (alkalis) to green
(neutral) and from there to red (Acids)...tells you which
one to have huh?

All original four are worth having cuz then you can do a
nice Rephlex Acid DJ set for stoned teenagers at house
parties. }:> Or something like that eh? I did a copy on tape
for someone and he was moaning that some of the tracks end
abruptly and it took me ages to explain. :/

That mix CD was a good move by Rephlex. Those guys always
make me smile. }:>

Ok, so did you personally buy them from the record store?

inclusive...
I want a full all-nerdy-facts-on-the-table-investigation!!!

Why do you have this venom towards me all of a sudden?
Phobiazero can you help me out here? I HAVE the vinyls in
those cases and that's how they came out. I can't prove it,
can you prove they where released without them? Why do I
have to be the one to prove myself. Can you prove that
Richard done some of the music? Nope, but someone still
ruined your copy by taking a big marker pen to it.

"To my knowledge there weren't any original red sleeve
cover"

And where did you get your knowledge? The twat that sold you
a copy without it's cover?

"so did you personally buy them from the record store?"

Are you telling me that someone got a red glossy cover made
in exactly the same way in each colour for each of mine and
put them only on the ones I got even tho I have seen many
copies of this in the same glossy covers?

Where would they get them from and bare in mind that if you
buy covers for records you have a minimum order of 500. Each
person that I got mine from did this?

Look at the Mix CD, Bar 'Green' it kinda says something
about how they originally came out.

ouch! yeah do that! Btw: I ruined my copy myself with that
pen...who could guess that it would be worth more than a
dime a decade later? And yes I bought them new...I guess
some evil person could change all covers to these cheapskate
sleeves I got...then I'm the sucker...

For the record, my copy of UI Red has a red sleeve, my UI
Blue has a blue sleeve and my UI Yellow has a yellow sleeve.
Some of them came that way, and some came in plain white
paper sleeves. Some of the blues and reds had "the aphex
twin" stamped on the labels, and some of the white paper
sleeves had rephlex contact info and "invocations in the
dynamics of acid" stamped on them.
