I just queued up this record from SoulSeek. I hope it goes
through overnight. I've been wanting to hear some Richard
Devine for a while, but I've kept putting it off.
Any comments on this record?

It's awesome.

How awesome?
I'm a bit worried about Trent working with someone else. I
view him as an outsider. I assume he would appoint someone
with credentials, though. ;)

Very intense and ever violent at some parts. Cold and sharp
come to mind. Very technical. Float 82 is like the oasis on
that album -- after that track, you descend back into hell.

Killer description. :)
From the clips I've heard on CDnow, it sounds dead on :D

if theres anyone who can bring Reznor back up to todays
electronic standards, it would have to be Devine.

aleamapper is very good.

Aleamapper makes Confield sound conservative and
reactionary. In some ways it's as confrontational and
challenging as that noise stuff nigglz likes but it's highly
structured. I prefer the friendlier (?!) sound of his
Lipswitch EP because I am a wussy girly man.

hahaha, lipswitch and aleamapper I liked alot

aleamapper is more of the dark ambient style, mixed in with
some crunchy beats and spooky atmosphere... I like it!

YES!

THE FIST OF FURY GLITCH BEATS!

I think I like lipswitch the best, its more bizarro.

Just like that episode of sea lab 2012 on adult swin
(cartoon network) with the bizzaro's!

HAHAH FUNNIEST EPISODE EVER!

"BIZZARO I LOVE YOU BIZZARO I WOVE YOU!"

"I am helping! bizzaro!"

*while he smashes and pours salt on that guys head..*

"MY BREASTS SENSE HE KNOWS SOMETHING, I AM GOING TO
INTERROGATE HIM"

hahahaha!

Love the pair of em...

didn't really get into him until last year...lazily I'd
always thought of him as an over-equiped AE clone...but once
you get past that you can hear he's got a sound of his
own....

LipSwitch is better I think that Alea...but theres not a lot
in it...

Check out some of his Live or DJ sets as well...they tend to
get a lot more rhythmic & rocking than his recorded stuff...

his new release comming out on schematic (or maybe on
pressed by warp not sure), is called "G4 to the floor" and
its suppost to be: " a full length full of dancefloor
anthems.Format: CD & LP,Release date: April 2003"

I cant wait for it to drop, I think itll kick ass muchly

i really dislike aleamapper. tried to listen to it many
times and i think itll never sink in. i only enjoy the beat
tracks. most of the album sounds exactly the same imo,
ambient soundscapes with little sound effects (way too many
door-slamming sounds in that album).

lipswitch on the other hand, wow! perfect little ep.

it'll come out on schematic.

I thought aleamapper was MUCH better than lipswitch.
lipswitch gets boring at times, just the beats and the
textures.

does richard devine release his stuff to schematic and then
have warp do the distributing? is that how it works, maybe
his new album will also have it done this way too? If so
thats kinda like having baking your cake and eating it too.

It's called Asect.Dsect. Not G4 to the Floor.

"4SCH023 Richard Devine - asect:dsect LP- "G4-to-the-floor"
- Vice Magazine, Now an epic full length, full of dancefloor
anthems. Format: CD & LP Release date: April 2003"

check the schematic site flappy, on the right hand side. :*p

my prediction on devine's next album:

lipswitch-stuff-as-many-fuckin-noise-in-a-track-as-humanly-
a blatant return to his possible-and-pull-it-off-remarkably.
im sure since lipswitch was released jointly by schematic
and warp, it got much more promotion than aleamapper,
therefore sold more. so hell want to get beck to that style
and evolve his sound a little.

which would be great. it'll mindfuck everyone of you. cant
wait.
