I was wondering if there is some kind of tool or emulator that lets you compose VideoGame music, like for the GAME BOY ?! I know there is NanoLoop but thats not very userfriendly.....!?

when this board was still on its nullsleep kick I was somehow led to the Paragon 5 tracker, and I like it pretty well although I've barely even begun to tap its potential.
here it is hope you can make use of it.

youve got one of those?!?! I REALLY want one! Think it would be cool to get some really nice C64ish sounds out of it! The MachineDrum looks like it could take on the entire TR army and kick their ass!!
but uh...maybe try some filters or FX? Like a saturator or something?

, or a harmonizer/fx box
The SID Station is a truely wonderfull machine, I cant say enough good things about it
"hey mickey i have a sid to but its not very well at the moment:("
Whats wrong with it dood? If you go to the elektron site and ask technical support they should help you out of your jam, they are really good about that.
There is a vst version of the SID station around somewhere on the net, I have seen it before, but I dont think the sounds come nearly as close as the origional C64 SID chip or box that utilizes it(SID Station)
How about little sound dj? its another cartridge type program for your game boy, nano loop is more for noize and wierd fx type stuff IMO.
And remember you get the phatest sounds out of those old grey dinosaur looking gameboys... the origional ones.
If you want to talk 8 bit drop me an email Monoid cause I am an 8 bit freak, or maybe orange dust could post something here about 8 bit. His songs, although not always 8 bit, they sound alot like it. I bet he could suggest some cool app's or gear too

why don't you just use modplug tracker, then choose any wav sound but loop a very small fraction of it for a tone and compose with that? Or sample gameboy with a microphone?

but where is the fun in that? instead of sampling someone elses work, why not be creative and make your own eh?
I mean, I am all for sampling, but it can only get you so far, especailly if your talking about wanting to make 8 bit tunes.
As my grandpa said: you have to have the right tools for the job, and if you dont have em, itll make your job a whole lot harder then it has to be.

On another note, I dont know that much about fruity loops, but in reason the subtractor synth can dish out some phat C64 type sounds, if you have reason I could give you one of my 8 bit patches for you to play around with Ctrl Alt Del.

3rd VST from the bottom!
"Quantum 64 is a harsh and aliased digital synth with single DCO
and multimode filter. It is inspired by Commodore 64's SID soundchip but it definitely is no emulation. The two special
ingredients that make the soul of Quantum 64 are the arpeggiator
and the degrader/quantiser unit."
