what are your opinions on heavy metal? i'm a fan of it, but
i still love music such as aphex twin. i'm goin out on a
limb here & guessing jaworski is also in to metal?
do you think there's a common link between liking more
alternative types of music, or is it an unconscious desire
to follow underground" music to appear "cool"?if electronica
and proper metal was flooding the charts, and pop music
became underground - would people who follow this
underground scence still be considered "cool" by others?
discuss people!!

i don't rreally like it. i rrespect that people do, its just
not my thing, although saying that it was motorhead that i
found when i wanted out of all that pop bullshit and that
kinda knocked me sidewarrds but i also found i dident like
metal eitherr and it dident do it forr me and so i moved on
and on and thrrough RHCP's Radiohead and then to Aphex Twin
and IDM but now i'm moving away frrom typical drrum n bass
music onto otherr things. but i have that motorhead tape in
libarry to thank rreally, it gave me the courrage at how
everr old i was to say "fuck this i want out" but the idea
of motorhead now... borres me. so i don't like metal.

also i like music because it sounds good, no otherr rreason.
therre is nothing "cool" about what i listen to and if
therre is... i dident know about it and i dont carre.

Heavy metal used to give me some sort of energyboost but it
stopped working somehow... Some songs are still good though

Yeh, I like black metal and some of the more atmospheric
death. A friend who lives and breathes the stuff gave me a
list to check out.

It's been too long since I've been listening to this gaylord
electronic fag disco music.

I'm into a bit of metal. Metallica, Pantera, Ozzy, Sabbath,
Danzig, Megadeth, RATM, SOADown, Slayer, Iron Maiden,
Motorhead, White Zombie, Marilyn Manson, Misfits, etc. Used
to be a bit of a Metalhead.

Yeah, I'm into tons of metal. I'm more into metal than I am
IDM, but I love all my children equally. My favorite metal
band is Mastodon. They are really incredible, especially
live. I will now list some other metal bands I like a lot
and probably forget loads of them:

Immolation, Vader, Slayer, Death,
Necrophagist, Gorgasm, Impaled, Cephalic Carnage, Converge,
Dillinger Escape Plan, Macabre, Cannibal Corpse, Mercyful
Fate, Fuck I'm Dead, Dies Irae (Mex), Soilwork..

Many others that I'm forgetting also

In speaking of Melvins, I recieved their split-single with
nirvana today, bought it on Ebay for a fair low price and
damn, they really did a proper version of Velvet
Underground's Venus In Furs.
Never heard their cover before...

blows me away every time I put it on.

Yeah, Reign in Blood is tops.

Another favorite of mine is the first Cathedral - Forest of
Equilibrium.

Sepultura - Beneath the Remains
Tiamat - The Astral Sleep
Paradise Lost - Gothic
Megadeth - So Far So Good So What
Emperor - In the Nightside's Eclipse
Master's Hammer - The Filemnice Occultist (gotta love the
band photos on that one)
Carcass - Symphonies of Sickness
Napalm Death - Mentally Murdered EP
Wehrmacht - Biermacht

Cryptopsy - anything they did with Lord Worm on vocals

Katatonia - none of their albums, but the songs Black
Erotica and Love of the Swan are fantastic (from the WAR
compilation)

I've been so out of the metal scene for so long, I feel sad
and lost... :: weeps ::
