I am going to this concert, and have seen the promo posters
stuck on walls all around my major city,. I am going in to
town next friday and I am going to try to take one of these,
to stick on my wall,.. my only problem is that appparantly
they are a real fukker to remove,.. I was wondering if
anyone has some tips for removing these with the minimal
damage to the poster,. I think they use some type of glue to
put it on.

any suggestions?

Just ask the guy organising the gig to give you one.

that wouldn't work if it was glued on,. but maybe I can
salvage a middle section if they only did the outside,.

more suggestions?

A friend and I use dto do this as a hobby, his room was
covered in them :)

Best time to do it is a few hours after its rained, it seems
to loosen the glue without softening the paper. Take 2
corners and pull firmly at the same speed. You will probably
rip 2 out of 3 posters, even when you get good at it. You
should try several and just keep the one you get off least
ripped.

I think putting these posters up is illeagal and is done
through dodgy means (I have a friend of a friend who does
this :P) so I think it'd be hard to get

Salt Water should do the trick I think. Also an alcohol
based solution will. Maybe throw a pint over it or
something.

Refund,

Maybe you should try the source. Find out where they came
from and see if you can go down and take a few copies. They
should be fairly resonable, hell maybe you'll be able to get
more off them in the future.

these posters are usually just stuck up with dough glue. its
just a mix of water and flour. its kinda like clag.

they should come unstuck fairly easily with water.

If you have a portable steamer, that will remove them.

A battery-powered iron, perhaps.

Anything that will cause moisture will make them easier to
remove. You can also try record stores as well. For
example, the Newbury Comics store around here often has a
box of discarded posters that they need to get rid of; you
can take whatever you'd like. Sometimes it's crap, but
sometimes it's good. Sam Goody does the same thing.
