losing audio data freaking sucks, I spend like 4 hours in
cool edit making tones of sounds and what not and try to
save them all and then when I open the song again it says
"oops you forgot to save track 3.32 or some crap and an
important chunk of a song has to be rewritten. and usually
I can't get it anywhere near what it used to be.
argh

that doesn't help the fact that I am making a song and I
forget to save a file. you can't make a back up of
something you never saved. really it's my fault but my
songs use so many damn wav files that sometimes you miss one
when saving things.

I know- I'm giving very serious consideration to
implementing software based raid for my final year at uni...
fuck HD failures. I may actually replicate my work & music
directories to the other computer on my (proposed) network
too...

I just hate it when my wavedata directory disappears in
cakewalk.

The other eveing I uninstalled cakewalk... it chose to
delete some VSt plugins from my floops directory :(

Thankfully I took a backup of my floops installation last
week :)

before i reformated my computer (a few months ago) i saved
ALL my unfinished fruity loops files on a CD...
(i did not test out to make sure they worked before i
reformated... stupid, i know)
....now the file extensions have mysteriously changed (no
longer .flp) and the files dont work
if i try to change the extension back to .flp it still
doesn't work :(

Soundforge has the nasty habit of freezing up now and then,
mostly after I've been working at a sample for a few hours
and haven't saved it in between..

hasn't done it in a while, though..

cool edit has no auto save. it needs a function to save all
files within a song that are used (not the ones you aren't
using, there are alot of those too like wavs you tried but
didn't like) and give them all the same name with like a
number behind them. Why couldn't they do that.
