Okay so I got this program to start making some IDM, I read
bits of the manual, but still how the hell do you make music
with this program? It seems to be about editing and not
much else (although I noticed a keyboard:P). Is there a
site or something that would explain how to make
sounds/songs using soundforge? Thankyou :)

ah, soundforge.... i use that program daily, mostly for
making sounds. i can spend hours and hours working on sounds
in soundforge, messing with directX plugins, cutting&pasting
and whatnot.
ofcourse you can make whole pieces with soundforge, but
usually i find myself using cubase after i created a lot of
sounds in soundforge.

oh, i almost forgot: just mess around with it, it's an easy
program to use, you can figure it all out yourself. you'll
get the hang of it pretty quickly.

i thin qrter led you up the garden path just a
wee..bit..Soundforge is great for manipulating wavs..piling
effects etc..but as far as making music goes you need a
program with a sequencer..to ..you know actually put notes
in to bars create rhythms etc..for that you need something
like Fruity Loops..Acid..Cubase..Logic...Reason..or one of
the trackers... etc..etc...

I WILL HAVE NO SUCH THING, FLEA!!

nah, what I said in the other thread, was that Ae_King
should start out with SoundForge and just start making
sounds - forget about STRUCTURE - that comes later. time and
time again you'll hear crappy tracks with the same
structures and the same sounds.

get a feeling for samples themselves first, for sounds
themselves, THEN get a sequencer and start worrying about
the structure of tracks.

btw, get Cubase. I like Cubase. Yes. Oh yes, I do. Yes yes.

and what are you on about, Bremzen? hmmmm..?

I advised AE_King to start out with SF in a different
thread, for the above mentioned reasons.
