Jaked by Ebay

A couple weeks ago I won a BPM mixer. I sent a money order
to the seller and it never came, and I couldnt trace the it!
Has anyone else been ripped off by a seller? How do you guys
handle non-paying bidders?

I'd talk to the customer support people. They can probably
refund your money.

I find ebay to be very addictive. It got me in trouble
financially a few times.

you just keep hounding them. if you have their address, look
them up in a reverse phone book and start calling them /
their parents. eventually they'll give in when you start
threatening them. after this is over, you learn to never
deal with people with an under 5 rating.

Also, you may want to look into hiring the mafia if this
bastard won't give it up.

whoa... elusive

Dolleater, you can report it to ebay, and they will give the
person a big warning... or they can take his ebay id
away.... This happens to me sometimes... ebay is great... in
the sense you can find some great stuff for cheap.... but
bad because you have to relay your trust on people you dont
know... which is sometimes scary and turn out bad

I had bought over 20 things from different sellers on ebay
before and never gotten ripped off, but then when I went to
buy a synth I got scammed.. you can never really tell I
guess, this guy had 14 good feedbacks. I'm still in the
process of trying to get the money.

dolleater: first you should file the "fraud report" where
ebay will investigate it and try to get him to give you the
item. from 30-90 days after the auction, if the item still
hasnt come or they cant get ahold of the seller, you can
file the fraud claim. On their website, it says they will
contact you with the form to do it, but I didnt get it until
I contacted them through their shitty little "webform,"
although thankfully that at least did the trick before my
time ran out (you only get 90 days from the end of the
auction.) eBay's site is really piss poor, it gives you
absolutely no direct contact information for them, not even
a fucking email address, so you better hope the webform in
the "ebay safe harbour" will suffice.

Some tips:

For rare items, ALWAYS insure your purchases. It's usually
a very small extra fee and can save you hassle in case
something happens.

Keep in contact with the seller and ask questions if you're
not sure about something.

Make sure you know what payment the seller accepts.

Sellers with high feedback numbers are usually reliable, but
check deeper. Watch out for recent or groups of bad
feedback: That's usually a sign the seller has become or
can become careless.

And most importantly:

If you don't think something is worth bidding on...DON'T!

:)

i got ripped off by this guy,
russel sandlin,
i won 21 bucks worth of incense, sent the dickhead a money
order and never received it.
I called him up long distance and tried to bitch him out,
but he hung up.
I also filled out a fraud report on the fuck.

sour apples ruin ebay.

tip: check their recent auctions for other synths or
hardware they've successfully sold and gotten + feedback
for. if they have more than one such item, you should be
good.

stick to smaller purchases on ebay - like records and porn

buy equip from pawn shops - or steal it - most the time
people back out of selling...or lie about its condition...

better to be able to touch sumfin fo'z ya buy it

eBay can be good.. but you'll mostly end up paying
waaaaaaaay to much for rare stuff..
