that lucas!!!! i actually heard from a friend the whole star wars movie was based on an old japanese film, thats why darth vaders mask looks like a samurai helmet, and they all use light sabers aka swords! makes you think huh |

He admitted it was based on that japanese film (Seven Samuri?). To be fair, it's probably more the artists/set designers that "stole" the deisgn, Lucas may not even be aware. |

Lucas is very much inspired by Japanese samurai movies. For example he helped Kurosawa produce one of his movies together with other director friends such as Scorsese and Copolla. Kurosawa didn't get much financial suport in japan . |
