I'm not that used to word really, so does anyone know how
to set tabs to show like dots when you use it? If you know
what I mean...

There's an icon that looks like a capital "I" and capital
"P" (with the 'hole' filled in) very close together on the
toolbar. Click that...

That should of put dots in all your spaces and arrows in
place of all your tabs... Sorry, was that not what you were
trying to do? :s

That's the one...

I jsut realised in some versions of works/word this only
puts the backwards p at the end of lines- not the dots I
described. Sorry :(

each major heading listed on the table of contents I want to
have dots going over to the page number... I know you can
set tab to do that, but I don't know how with word... that's
what I need to do... :)

Sorry, I've had trouble doing that myself in the past. I
can't remember how I finally did it.

The easy way; Go to Insert -> Indexes and lists (I have a
swedish Word so it might be called something else there).
Then it´s quite selfexplaining.
