you can usually just use a small jack plug.
but prferably, if your soundcard has digital in, and your md
digital out. get yourself an optical digital cable.

That's what my mate did, and that worked seemed to work
pretty well.

Why, are you thinking of using a portable MD recorder to
sample stuff?

If you've got yourself a optical digital cable comin out of
you'r computer (a sqaure hole with a wee red eye peeking
out) then you will want to get a fiber optics cable at your
electronics store. Otherwise, get a normal cable with a male
minijack on each end. plug the minijack into the line out of
your soundcard, and into your minidisc's line in. Best of
luck to you.

both sides stereo mini-jack should do the trick.

Or else stereo mini jack and double tulip plug

the double stereo jack should work fine nomatterwhat. but if
you have an optical connection you should use it because the
quality is much improved.

No, the red and white are RCA patch cables. Get a cable with
a jack on each end that looks like the jack on a pair of
headphones.

You have to get a cord (I got one for about $4) with the
appropriate connector on both ends and connect the headphone
out (or line out) on the minidisc player to the line-in on
your soundcard. Then you record the line-in input using a
program such as Musicmatch Jukebox (a lot of other programs do
it too - I think I noticed RealPlayer does it, and I'm sure
you could configure Cool Edit or something to do it). I'm
almost completely sure the sound quality will be just as
good as the original recording if you do it correctly.
