it is always interesting to compare. Little indie rock bands are lucking to push a few thousand units, and M&M moves 100,000 a week for months at a time.
I'd like more data if you get it though, very interesting.

Blue (no. 1) - 117,500 U2 (no. 2) - 95,000
no. 1 singles - westlife - 90,000
singles now account for only 10% of the total market in the UK. i thought kiddies pocket money was going up aswell.

Yeah, I've been wanting to see some sales stats on ''IDM'' albums for a while. Autechre, in particular... Confield...

i think that number is pretty unlikely. even for worldwide sales, that's amazingly high for such an artist i think. if he sold 100 000 drukqs worldwide, that would be insane success imo.

If drukqs sold 300,000 it would have been number one in the album charts for 3 or 4 weeks (took about 80,000 average in 2001). It entered at number 22 and then 74 next week and then left the chart (I only have archives of top 75 album charts). this equates to estimated scanned sales of roughly 2000-3000 through chart return shops. Which equates to an estimated 6-7000 actual sales for those 2 weeks. Which is pretty good for a warp artist in UK.

Also it means you're out by a factor of 46.2.
