Har har. I have both and I can't believe much alike they
are. 18's no way as good tho, but I'm gonna listen daily to
really "feel" and "soak" it.

Oh and their by Moby, if you just didn't happen to
know.

Play is better imo....
Although Moby isn't my no.1 artist...I do have all his
albums...should I feel ashamed?

To be honest Steve its hard to "soak" and "feel" Mobys
music,I can't do it,not much texture in it.

yeah. to me, 18 is like a watered down version of play. and
play really isn't that good.

IMO FELLAS

and whats with this trend of sampling your last record?
doesn't one of the songs on 18 sample track 3 on play?
porcelin.

and then prodigy sampled firestarter on their new album, and
then crystal method sampled something from vegas onto
tweekend.

i mean really now

Play definitely. 18 is Play-lite without any node of
creativity or passion. It's like his music is now an arid
wasteland...

Not that it matters anymore. He has been TERRIBLY
overexposed. He can only go down from here...

And he'll go down quite far...

Too bad.

I thought that on sum tracks on 18 it was like remixes of
tracks on play. Used to be into Moby's earlier stuff, but
dont like his newer stuff, although saw him on the 'Play'
tour which was pretty cool, especially 'thousand' which he
did at the end.

I liked Play, and some of his other albums....18, however,
was not so good, because it got REALLY monotonous as all the
tracks sounded really similar. I liked his live shows,
though.

moby is great, he does suck lemonade probably

play = 10 million sold, techno beats, love the song
southside w/gwen stafanni

18 = great cd, slow and calm, very vocal album

"play = 10 million sold"

why do you mention that so explicitly..?

offline DaWeeze from WANTED IN 16 STATES! on 2002-11-03 12:28 [#00426240]

Couple faults

Play only sold 4-5 million...

Southside on Play does not have Gwen's vocal (production
problems). The Southside single does, however.

zaphod-- are ya a little pissy today?

trl in print ? no way, out of my $20 or so subscription for
2 a month rolling stone and my $20.oo for a year of spin

i admit its a lot of crap, but id say its at least 25% good
or so so in both magazines which is more that i could ever
say about trl

ya know?

offline zaphod from the metaverse on 2002-11-03 12:48 [#00426288]
Points: 4428 Status: Addict

well, sorry if i am a little pissy.
anyway, what do the sales matter. alot of great artists sell
very little and alot of terrible artists sell tons of
records.
and i stand by my statement that Rolling Stone and Spin are
TRL in print.

18 is a miserable attempt to copy play.
