any fans of their album in search of? i think it's
amazing.

(Note: N.E.R.D. = side project of hip-hop producers The
Neptunes - Chad Hugo and Pharrell Williams.)

pharrell is such a nice singer, and you really hear that
when he's singing whole songs instead of just choruses for
other people's rap songs. the production on the album is
their best yet as well. for the last couple years they've
just been churning out generic tracks for artists they don't
think really care about their art (commodity only). this is
their true pride and joy. the combination of rock, hip-hop,
70s soul, and funk works EXTREMELY well in the official
(american) version (it was a little bare in the original
version, which unfortunately is the version released in
europe and most commonly found on p2p).

the cd just won the shortlist prize (best cd that has sold
under 500,000 copies in the u.s.) as selected by some very
intelligent and talented judges, beating out the likes of
drukqs, vespertine, the private press, and albums by the
hives and the vines.

you can get the cd for $5.99 at best buy (yes it's a full
length album). to preview it download these songs (hopefully
you'll get the live band version and not the programmed
originals):

N.E.R.D. are just phenominal......what crazy beats they have
going....and you can't beat that price. you pay that for CD
singles by some boy bands these days.

on NME recently i read an article that they may not be
releasing anymore CD's under the name N.E.R.D. due to some
difficulties with their record company (freaking music
industry eediots!)

Yeah i like that album , listened to it alot last summer.
And neptunes production on peoples tracks are always ace! my
favorite is that Da Licks-Best You Can track.
Kellis-Young And Beautifull (or something?) is another
highlight.

I've only heard 4/5 of NERD's tracks. But I liked those,
strange really as I don't like most of the thngs they
produced...

flea: as i said, they're willing to churn out generic beats
to make money, and they made a killing with that britney
album. they're workers for higher basically, so their
"collaborations" (more like beats-4-sale) can be hit or
miss. they use the money they make on the britneys, nellys,
nsyncs, etc. to fund their own music and their label where
they put out kelis, spymob, and clipse. just block out that
stuff from your mind and listen to the album, i think as a
producer (your tracks are some of the best produced ones on
this board, flea) you'll love it.

sido: the track is "young fresh n' new". they did the music
to both of kelis' albums and wrote a lot of the lyrics too.
that song has an amazing beat huh? i heard it in a club once
and was shook.
