DJ Logic just did a clinic at my school.

It was awesome.

He talked abit, and answered questions, then played.

He had a friend on stage playing an electronic drum pad,
just improving.

He had 2 turn tables and a chaos pad.

He was doing alllll sorts of crazy stuff, scratching while
running it through the chaos pad, so it sounded like a synth
instead of the record.

then he was playing this jazz trumpet solo. but scratching
it, into a new melody

very well done

was awesome

:)

well, yes.... but mostly Jazz musicians

we had DJ Shadow come last year. He didnt play.... just
talked about music, and answered questions. it was still
very cool.

We also get like producers and stuff to do clinics, but i
havnt been to any of those, cause its more for like studio
producing, with acoustic instrumentrs etc

but yeah, electronic music is getting alot more popular, and
its showing. I meet new kids each semester, and more and
more of them are into electronic music, and making
electronic music. Its nice to know there are people out
there :)

and the school is really investing alot into it, cause
obviously its the future

*you should see the synth labs.... *drool*

"synth labs" haha, that sounds freaky!

you should go to the studio producing ones too. You can
learn a lot about acoustic instruments, and u can use them
along with electronic stuff.

try not to limit yourself

a clinic is when an artist comes, and talks, and performs,
giving insight to thier methods, and philosophies

i heard of logic, but never heard his stuff before.

he is playing tonight with a 6 peice live band... i might
have to look into that

*along with vernon reid

dont know him...

yeah, this is true... however, these things are meant more
as like, extra learning. i dont even have a basic knowledge
of acoustic production, so i dont think the visiting
"artists" would benifit me much.

oh, and the synth labs...

its basically just a bunch of workstations...

all have g4 macs, and loads of equipment.

there is a whole wall of synthesizers that you an take them
off of, and use them.

I had a stinking illiterate busker hold a special Busking
Clinic in my des.res. appartment yesterday; then a
struck-off GP held an Abortion Clinic, since my pad is
uber-exclusive and costs a fab amount to live in.

btw vernon reid is a legendary guitarist from the band
living colour, definitely the best black rock band of the
90s
