I know I know..there's been threads about it..but did
anyone notice..the graphic, architectural, product and
production design in there...it's so cool..so now!

it was way awesome. I liked the vibe of that whole movie,
the camera work and the audio worked really well
together.... that scene in the ailse with all the blood!
That was mega great!

one bit of soundtrack where Robin Williams goes into the
little Boy's Room is almost like glitch, click stuff..that
wont be out of place on Vespertine..

and the fetishistic..close ups of the equipment..the fluids
through the tubes..the juxtaposition of Text and
Numbers....is the director the guy who directed some of the
Manic Street Preacher Videos..

now that you mention it, the whole score kinda sounded like
vespertine, very minimal click beats with a lot of arranged
strings. I really like that style of music

yeah, the more I hear about this movie the more I'm tempted
to see it...gotta try and fight my natual insinct to puke
when seeing Robin Williams; people I trust tell me he's
great in this but I'm wary, you know, it's not to easy
forgive him for old crimes...

I was quite repelled by Robin William's spate of movies
until Insomnia...he's great here..very low key
understated..just like the whole movie...the film really is
the triumph of composition and design over dramatic
substance...most of the drama is generated via the character
interaction to and with in the sterile and clinical design
of the environ...and ofcoarse the music and sound track say
a whole lot more than pages of dialogue or over acting ever
could...

umm..the site is not that hot..except for the very cool
opening page...

it's almost like the opposite of the instances where the
websites outshine the movies..for eg..Center of the
World..etc...but for a movie so rife with inventive
design..the site is diaappointing..so much cooler..

I noticed that. Sounded like Pole or summat.

Not too keen on the film, though Williams was good. It was
all a bit too cliched and when he said about being abused at
the end I was like "Yeah, roll out the cliches".

Yeah, I DID like the aesthetics. All that white, the light
and his clothes. And to be a sexist pig, the guy's wife was
sooooooo beautiful.

Oh yeah. That's another point. All the family photos were
way too glossy and looked like fashion mag shoots. I'm a
fussy bastard aye?

well what about the husband..all sunken cheeks and pouty
lips...with photogenic bastards like that..how can the
photos look anything but glossy fashion shoots?

I totally agree about the production design of the movie.
It was beautiful. The signage in SAV*MART, the photographic
equipment. the AGFA product placement, and the nice close
ups of the developing process. It's very Mark Romanek. If
you've ever seen the video for Fiona Apple's Criminal,
you'll remember how he used a lot of high tech and modern
stuff, like the sports car and the video camera, etc.

This film is Definitely going to my dvd-to-buy list. I just
wish it would come out sooner.

Nice to see Robin Williams has kicked the habit of doing
those sentimental shitflicks. Hurray for him.

I actually have trouble finding Robin Williams funny or
sentimental, now... after Insomnia and OHPhoto, two fucking
GREAT movies, I consider him a psycho now...

The mother in OHPhoto (the chick from Gladiator) is so hot
in that movie... I may start stalking her, too.

And yes, the mother was quite attractive.

i'm starting to be more selective about what dvd's i buy
after i went crazy and got x-men, shrek, and some others
that i probably don't love enough to own. if OHP had some
really good extra features i'd probably get it.
