You know, I was jamming along with So What last night and it was really cool. First it's in D dorian (C major) so you play only white keys, and anything you play (almost) sounds great, then it modulates to E flat dorian (C sharp major), so you play the black keys (mostly), and again most anything you do sounds great. I was coming up with all these insane chord voicings. Fuckin modal jazz, it's the shit. |

thats another interesting point - I've seen this with friends of mine - people always think when they're at a concert the person who's performing is looking at them, winking, whatever. always amazes me. they mostly are completely sure about it. amazing. |
