I'm still having trouble discovering all the good
electronica out there since there's so much. I would really
appreciate if you could recommend some 'idm' tracks which
you think are excellent and must haves.

At the moment i'm only familiar with aphex, BoC. some
squarepusher, venetian snares etc..

i would like to get more into AE, plaid, global goon, jega
and i dont really know what else.

if you could list a few artists and one single track which
would represent their overall style, i would be more than
happy.

remember i'm just asking, if you dont want to recommend
anything anymore because you have done so already for the
262345th time, then don't, but i know there's always people
trying to get others into music they really like..

thanks, and have a nice day =)

i dont like plaid or amon tobin so I cant reccomend an album
but download some and see for yourself. some other good
stuff:

Dntel - whole life of possibilities album is great (dont
know if youd strictly call this idm or the daedelus album
either)
Daedelus - invention album
Bola - fyuti
Jega - geometry

those are just a few

go absolutely ape-shit on downloading Amon Tobin. i'm not
familiar enough with his seperate tracks to give you an
example, but as whole albums, they all kick ass.

Plaid - Double Figure. particularly New Family and Eyen.

Global Goon - Vatican Nitez. Stan's Slaves and Scott Cronce
is the CEO are too good.

crunch is still really obscure for some reason.
I recommend "toe tac tic" or "art pylon" by crunch on the
album "1"
Also the 3rd track on otto von schirach's "8000 bc"
my favorite autechre cd is probably lp5, ep7 and
chichlisuite are really close.
your old avatar was awesome

amon tobin, cylob, bochum welt, autechre, plaid, jega,
plone, there are a million "IDM" artists out there..... too
many to even think about counting.

thanks guys. i will definitely check some of these artists
out. Thank god for soulseek..

I have amon tobin's latest album and also his cujo -
adventures in foam, which are both really good but i wouldnt
really call it idm.

The best AE i've heard by the way is anvil vapre. I got it
from a friend, but only that disc and i really would like to
get more of that kind of music so i'll go have a search..
thanks again

Download phial ep by Bochum Welt and enjoy his beautiful
music. Don't miss the track "phaedra", one of his best,
imo.
