it's supposed to be a remix album with old and new remixes
of previous tracks

I think I'm the only one not excited about this.. I hate
remixes and even worse I hate remixes of artists I like..
they're soooo rarely interesting. Even if they're done well
they never have the magic of the original aside form
selected rare cases. I would be happier to wait an extra
couple years for another real album. Just an opinion.

have you heard his remixes? they're pretty dope.

It's Aphex remixing his own work? oops maybe I spoke too
soon.. and no, I guess I haven't heard enough of his mixes
to judge. I guess my main beef is with other artists who
butcher the originals. If it's him remixing himself maybe
it's great.

no, it's his remixes of other artists (including some "new
and unreleased" which = "unreleased" cos i don't think
there've been any outside remixes since 2000)

ahh gotcha. like auntie aubrey.. well I won't write it off,
but i'd still rather him just release original stuff, but
that's just me. Thanks for the clarifications!

i love most of his remixes - however, against the grain i
think, I didn't like his Beck remix at all.

I agree with you on that marlowe, I wasnt a fan of the
Devils Haircut Beck remix either

Yeah its great that the record is coming out but a little
frustrating for long time collectors.. I have spent years
looking and quite a lot of money to collect pretty much
every remix RDJ has ever done - couldve saved the effort and
just bought the cd now..

Oh well, whats good for the majority gotta be a good thing I
guess...

you can sell what you've bought as collector's items on eBay
or an electronic music store

Dont wanna sell it..

Just doesnt feel like so much of an achievement to own any
more..

DO you know what I mean? Like when you own something rare
and then they go and feckin' re-release it.

i know exactly what you mean

or when you a buy an album and a year later they reissue it
with extra content

yippee
RDJ has like the bestest remixes of his stuff..and I am with
Marlowe..the only one I care for not a bit is Devils
Haircut...it's like here's RDJ..doin his thing doin his
thing and then comes Beck..snooze..

re-released with extra content - yes that is annoying..

Except for Japanese releases - which usually have extra
tracks in an effort to justify the ludicrous costs of stuff
here. That I applaud.

I don't mind reissues with extra content, as long as there
is enough of a gap between the first pressing and the
reissue.

The other side of the spectrum is when they reissue
something AS IS, with no extras or updates. now THAT is
annoying - why not just say we pressed more, because that is
exactly what it is.
