http://www.parascope.com/en/1096/tesindex.htm

it's all good reading, but read the section "tesla: the
greatest hacker of all time"

has anyone ever played Command & Conquer: Red Alert? The
Tesla Coil was the best part of the game. You put it around
your soviet base and every now and then some allied soldier
walks by and gets fried.

yeah thank you. great read :)

im still scared by it though...the whole thing. i mean just
think of whats out there...all that stuff we don't know
about. what is the government up to? what is our sciences
REALLY capable of doing. cellphones might look like two tin
cans connected with strings to whats out there!!

sounds like total bull. come on, they have like a bunch of
articles about vampires and big-foot and stuff on that site.
voice recognition in 1898? hard to belive..

what if its true though? thats really creepy my friends. i
mean death ray? that article made it sound more powerful
than thermonuclear bombs!!! dudes, we're dealing with
something of an incomprehensible magnitude where the whole
earth, once harnassed, could BE the weapon. imagine gather
up the earths engergy up in one lighting bolt...but you
could control where the bolt landed OBLITERATING where you
wanted it to go in a crater 10,000 feet deep!!

a lot of accumulated cultural knowledge is questionable,
naturally, due to the way memes work. but you won't find big
foot/dracula in encyclopedias, which are the most credible
sources available probably, because no credible person found
anything objective to add to it. I'm sure legends pass by
word of mouth and become more and more entertaining and
extreme, or an individual might mock the system and pass on
deliberately false but super quirky/entertaining memes about
themselves for fun. Aphex twin would do something like that
:). but just look at his patents, those are proof enough.

This kind of reminds me of the Philadelphia Experiment, when
the US government supposedely teleported a naval battleship
and the crew ended up in another dimension and died...or
something like that.

i think nature does not have the possibilities left to put
(again??) these fairy-saint-creatures...
but what about wild living creatures in the real life...!?

it's a big conspiracy. There are arguments that challenge
the validity, and unfortunetely most of the supposed
military witnesses are no longer alive, or deny the project.

that scares me too. i truely believe against all nutural
laws we WILL come with a way to teleport and travel through
time. i don't think its right. its messing with something
that isn't ours.

but i mean if someone in the future DID come up with a way
to do it they already have know what im saying? although we
presently arn't in the time of their findings the future
is...and they've already done it. so when we get to that
point and and travel through time ... our present time
already knows it. or doesn't know it cause the people
traveling through time look as human as us.

im trying to think of something that might have already
occured through the use of time travel. and all i can think
of are the stone henge and crop circles. everyone thinks
they're made by aliens but what if they're made by time
travelers? you don't know that. when we get into the
future we'll know cause then when we get there someone will
do it and we'll say "remember those crop circles? now we
know who did them? that guy on tv just showed us"

freaky

offline Amonbrune from Vancouver (Canada) on 2002-10-06 18:15 [#00394805]

there have been reports of crop circles being made over
night! they're not there the day before and suddenly
they're there the next day. and those don't look easy to
make. who does them? i don't believe aliens exist so i
cancel that out...

The Philadelphia Experiment was where the US government had
a group of Navy officers and sailors aboard a US vessel eat
a large amount of white cream cheese. It transported them to
another dimension and tasted ever so nice.

hmm... I agree that time travel isnt ethical... as you said
amon, its messing with something that isnt ours to control.
People will argue that time travel can be used to prevent or
lessen the effects of global catastrophes, for example,
going back to the 1920s and assasinating hitler before he
could come to power. Unfortunately, removing hitler will
change the past, present, and future in untold and possibly
even MORE catostrophic ways, as would changing anything
about our past. At the very least, someone else from some
other nation would probably eventually try to do the same
thing hitler tried... to take over the world. The best way
to change our past is to learn from it and direct that
knowledge to the future, so that history does not repeat
itself.

offline Amonbrune from Vancouver (Canada) on 2002-10-06 18:54 [#00394840]
Points: 7327 Status: Addict

but don't you see? if someone was smart enough to have gone
back to stop hitler...they would have done it which means
hitler wouldn't have happened right? understand? we're
living now and if someone from the future (us in the future)
came back to stop something it would have been stopped now
in our time. it only makes sense. time is on going and
donesn't end.

if i went back yesterday to visit myself, yesterday i would
have visited myself meaning today i have known about it.
can you understand that?

offline Amonbrune from Vancouver (Canada) on 2002-10-06 18:56 [#00394841]
Points: 7327 Status: Addict

our past cannot be changed cause if it has already been
changed our time now is unaffected cause the changed time is
equal to that of unchanged time meaning what was changed --
the outcome -- turns up to be normal for our time. nothing
can be changed except the future.

offline Amonbrune from Vancouver (Canada) on 2002-10-06 18:57 [#00394842]

time-travel DOES exist.

and it's just as well, because if scientists from the future
hadn't gone back and wiped King Aragnarok III out in 1834,
we'd all be wearing lilac and speaking in Australian
accents.

offline Amonbrune from Vancouver (Canada) on 2002-10-06 19:02 [#00394844]

in case you're still not getting it take this example:

Okay...say in 1950 the Hoover dam explodes and millions die
(to those europeans thats a huge famous dam in america..in
case you didn't know). big disaster. we cannot, in present
time, expect or hope to go back and change it.

but say we did. say we stopped it.

now pretend the future hasn't happened.

its 1950.

the exact same time the dam exploded in the other dimention
HASN'T happened. why? cause we stopped it.

unless we knew for certain it was stopped because of time
travellers we'd have no thought or feeling toward the effort
to stop the dam from exploding because NOTHING'S happening
right? you cant assume somethings wrong unless it happens.

i know it could exist. im just saying ALL THE POSSIBILITIES
of others having come back from the future HAVE ALREADY
HAPPENED.

what if the person who shot JFK was from the future?

we CANNOT go back and change it...why?

cause if we DID JFK would NOT have died! making sense now?
