John Cage Was Made For IDM

for my MIDI systems class, i have to rearrange a song, any
song, into an electronic song. any style

so, i was listening to my John Cage Sonatas And Interludes
For Prepared Piano, and I knew i wanted to do one.

So i got the scores from my library, and im doing Sonata
#IV.

It sounds SO BADASS WITH SYNTHS. I also put nice glitchy
drums over it.

its so IDM sounding its insane

ill post it when i finish

Most of the "Synthesizer Covers" of Famous Classical pieces
are very cheesy

thats what I mean.. I mean, come on, Cage can be really
good.. if you're going to do a cover use different sounds to
reconstruct the melodies, not synths.. (to me synths almost
automatically sound cheesy..)

that said, I haven't heard what Zeus has done with it, so
I'll shut up now.

I am interested to hear what it sounds like zues. John Cage
was THE pioneer of experimental music. He is my hero

"John Cage

how about the first people/monkeys to bang rocks
together/stretch skins over hollow logs?

I agree, but then to cover him with the use of synths would
seem like a step back.

oh shit, I was going to shut up till I heard Zeus' piece.
all apologies.

I liked Wendy Carlos' (chick with a dick) synth reworkings
of classical stuff. Kind of dated, but kind of cool...

I have to look up some John Cage ASAP... but his damn name
brings back memories of Mortal Kombat... I still remember
that move Johnny Cage did where he did the splits and
punched your guy right in the balls... I got SUCH a kick out
of that. :-D
