lately Ive been listening to music while walking around...
i used to do this in highschool, but i didnt do it much for
awhile, but i started doing it again.

And since highschool, ive gotten into Boards Of Canada, and
they are absolutly amazing. They make the world seem so
unreal as you are walking through it.

Its a beautiful thing

I spent my whole time in 6th form plugged into a CD player
or MP3 player. I remember breaking the CD player "door" when
it fell out of my pocket when I was chasing a mate- I
carried on running (kneeing the cd player about 5/6ft in the
process) the door popped open and the cd shattered into a
million billion shards. I thought it was really funny at the
time.

Listening to SAW2 and walking thru the city almost got me
run over once... I was completly out of it. (legally "out of
it" that is) ;)

Music and walking is great it brings you into another
world.Something nasty and sharp ,electronic ,futuristic for
the city, some like the first cd of tango'n'vectif for biking
in the country side on a sunny day,its great.

Actually thats how I got into IDM ,by getting stoned and
walking you'll find a beat and various sounds occur from
around you ,car horns, money rattling ect .Its great !

My school days revolve around what CD to take to listen to
on the walk from the busstop home. And I always take the
long, scenic route so I can get more time alone with my
discman. Today, it was A Saucerful of Secrets, yesterday, a
CD-R of mixed System of a Down tracks.

I wanted to attack random people on the street yesterday...
''THEY'RE TRYING TO BUILD A PRISON!!! THEY'RE TRYING TO
BUILD A PRISON!!! THEY'RE TRYING TO BUILD A PRISON!!! For
you and mmeeeeeee... oh BAby, you and meeee''...

listening to squarepusher at school always makes me want to
shout IM THE FUCKING DADDY at my teacher...

but imo it really adds something to walking/life if you're
listening to music

(fkd grammar)

I listened to Richard Devine's Alea Mapper yesterday at
college. Its really is a great experience. I imagined the
people to get pixilated and start glitching out or
something. And its always neat to have people come up to you
and ask what your listening to. You meet cool people that
way.

if ppl ask what im listening to , 90% of the times they go
like "that aint music, thats just fucking noise" of "where
are the lyrics" or something (just listen more carefull
moron there are lyrics...)

i only know about 4 ppl who know idm music

That happens to me all the time, its fun none the less.
Sometimes I ask them why they think that what I am listening
to would not be music, I tell them the most general
definition of music is, sound recorded in time. And that it
takes time to place beats and process sounds.... and to make
beautiful melodies... and sometimes they just shut up, other
times they try and tell me its not music.... none the less,
its fun to talk about it "IDM" with new people. This one
girl came up to me while listening to the new squarepusher,
and she got all excited and started dancing really cool.
Then I played her some of my tracks and she wanted me to dj
for a party of hers....... that made me happy.

:*)
