I knew youd be able to relate..

im listening to Dj Shadow, Prefuse 73, Cinematic Orchestra,
Red Snapper, and some Amon Tobin stuff, like non stop for
the past few days.

I cant get over it. its just so amazing

The badass beat... but additionally... this is the GOOD type
of hip hop! soulful...

I hate mainstream hip hop...

but yeah... *nods head to beat*

Man

yeah?

ive heard the name... whats it like?
is there vocals?

i really cant stand rapping... unless its like massiva
attack, or roots manuva, or like prefuse 73 cutting it all
up to hell! :)

there's a cool store here that just recently opened up that
carries a lot of Ninja Tune stuff... well, I should say it
carries SOME!! :)... there are so many cds there I want to
buy...

but yeah, I love hip-hop... not so much that rap part, but
even that is ok... I've been listening to Arrhythmia by APC
a lot these last few days... and DJ Shadow, well, The
Private Press has hardly left my cd player... it's
fantastic!!

there was a song on The Wedge a couple weeks ago by
Quasimoto called Come On Feet which was so cool... hmmm, I'm
gonna download it now actually... :)

yeah

i love the private press...

but i have realized that entroducing is better... even
though it took me awhile..

there is just so much soul on entroducing...

the drums sound so real!

long way to go though... but its gonna rock!

I dunno man, me liking The Private Press better now... but
both are awesome!! I just like the cleaner production, and
wider variety on The Private Press more...

i like the crunch :)

but if you like clean production... youll probably like my
new song...

its all high quality samples... so its not as rough... :(
and the only way i could make it rough would to be to
sample it to tape and back on the comp several tyimes,...
and thats a pain...

but yeah... ill let you know when its up!

i really need to hear some kid koala!

i think im a hip hoper deep down...

ive always LOVED laid back groovin drums...

but i think im only an underground type... i cant stand
rapping... ie all mainstream hip hop...

but i also love elctronic sounds... which most hip hop
doesnt usually have...

Zeus, Dead ringer is as good as the Private Press in my
opinion... from what you've said im almost 100% sure you'd
enjoy it!

in my eyes its probably the best album of this yeah, along
with Boombip and Doseone - Circle, and Astrobotnia

more good hiphop is:
-copywrite
-aesop rock
-atmosphere
-boombip & doseonse **highly recommended!**

but thats more rap than instrumental so perhaps not to your
tastes

when irony wears thin, radio attack, life/death, smile in
your face, point to b, 7th messege

these are my favs... but really the whole "Vocal Studies and
Uprock Narratives" album rocks

the first song i mentioned comes from "the 92 vs 02
collection"

if you want hip hop with electronic sounds...
then check push button objects, anti-pop consortium,
cannibal ox..(anti pop and cannibal ox both have rapping,
but cannibal ox released an instrumental version of their
album 'the cold vein'

more good prefuse73 tracks: the love you bring, blacklist,
afternoon love in

also check out his stuff as savath and savalas (youll like
this if you like the cinematic orchestra) and delarosa and
asora

i think you (zeus) and the_funkmaster were talking about
Amon Tobin before, so i got some of his stuff. I got
supermodified.

Very cool album! Golfer vs Boxer is scary! I think I'll have
to buy the album next time i have money.

Anyways, thanks for talking about it whenever (if) you did!

Yeah, I've been preaching for the ''Church of Amon Tobin''
for a couple months, the guy is probably the most purely
talented musician of all IDM artists, at least to MY ears...
I love him. I want to father his children.

oh and as mentioned a few hundred times in other
threads..check out machine drum...instrumental hip hop in
very similar style to prefuse73...but maybe a bit more
electronic...
oh and also try dj krush, nightmares on wax, el-p, clouddead
(and everything by anticon), dj cam, cujo (amon tobin),
beneath autumn sky, four tet, nautilis, cut chemist, q-bert,
minotaur shock, kid loco, aim, fog, etc
