Hi, just thought I'd mention that the above remix which is listed in the remix section of the site was not actually featured on v2 of Halo 10. It was only featured on the first release of it, which has a closer view of the spiral on the albums cover.
Okay, so maybe I'm being picky :P

I still remember hearing The Beauty of Being Numb and At The Heart Of It All for the first time and being completely blown away. It was during a tough time in my life, and ironically, it's come almost full circle and I'm there again...think I'll listen to those two tracks, now.

At the time they were released v1 was the US edition and v2 was the UK (Island Records) edition. The US edition had both AFX tracks - the UK edition was missing one, strangely enough.

i love the v1 release, it's what made me discover aphex, which, afterwards, made me discover the almighty autechre.

i've never really heard nin i was put off by the moaning guy that sings and the fact it mainly sounds like rock done by synthesisers - i don't really enjoy much rock apart from when it's realy fucking primitive sounding and tribal like shellac or something

yeah v2 has the "ruiner" version mix, which I absolutely love.
I dunno if v2 has that mix of "the downward spiral" with that weird percussion with lots of phaser on it....oooohh I love that song. it's so green :)

I got into Autechre before I got into Aphex, oddly enough. the Aphex NIN remixes are wonderful though. especially "at the heart of it all"

actually, both aphex tracks arent remixes of nin songs. theyre 100% aphex. he was supposed to hand trent some remixes, but didnt bother remixing, and tried to fool him by giving him two random tracks he made. didnt fool trent, but he decided to include both tracks on v1 (v2 only had 'at the heart of it all' i believe).

I must admit to I haven't heard much NIN (the only CD I've got is the one with AFX on it)...odd, I know, as a lot of people I know & respect are always banging on about em...
But major props to Trent for including these 2 tracks on the album...I've lost count of the number of people who've been introduced to AFX this way....
(What's peoples verdict of a good intro album to NIN?...for a complete NIN newbie...)

i'd say the fragile, though it is quite a departure from their previous material.
and pick up 'still', which is the latest and only available on their site.
you can actually go and see the performances live>they are accoustic if you can believe that wit piano and accoustic guitar!
beatiful work> i've dled them about 143 times each according to my dl manager!

The Downward Spiral is my favorite, but I don't know if it's a good intro album, unless you're predisposed to loud electro/industrial type music. No, I'm full of shit, because that was the first NiN album I had and I definitely wasn't predisposed to that kind of music and I still ended up loving it, so yeah, go with The Downward Spiral.

i used to listen to "At The Heart of It All" all the time on repeat on my CD player, this was when i was getting into Aphex Twin for the first time back in 99-2000. i loved it. i think that track and a couple of his other ambient type things got me to put ambient/abstrack noises into a bunch of my own tracks. I am so jealous that RDJ makes such great mixes! ^_^ he is a genious.
