Why sqpshr put out this shit?

why? this new ep/lp is extremely shitty comparing with
goplastic- of course "untitled" rocks but the rest is weak-
maybe it is not shit but amazingly weak stuff. it
diissapoints me.

I've never heard it..but I'm sure it does suck,.

I actually don't mind it. It has a great 8-bit feel on the
first disc, and the second are decent tweakings of live
material.

I feel that this cd apeals to both rabid fans and n00bs. FOr
the fans, you got the un-relased (kinda shitty), and the
tweaks of the live cd. for the newbies, you got some decent
drill and bass, and a cd full of great spusher songs.

i don't think the cd is pheominal...but i wouldn't call it
shit.

Assuming that is what will be released.

i loved goplastic and untitled ep crushed me totally- my
expectations for his new release were very high- and now he
is relaesing something like these...
i hope that it is contract ender as someone said and he will
put something really special on MEN.
your last chance mr jenkinson ;)

Well I wouldn't call it shit either but this release is
pretty weak. I like three of the seven tracks on the first
disc - and live CDs are pure wankery IMO.

Weak release for sure. Going to leave a bad taste in the
mouths of many.

Agreed. I came very close to writing off Boards of Canada
after the 'Beautiful Place out..." EP. Never before had I
heard the drum programming skills of one band so deteriorate
between releases. Then 'Geogaddi' came out and all was
well. I'm sure there will be many fine Squarepusher tunes
in the future. It's just an EP.

I'm feeling you jand! ;)

It's funny and it's sad! All this armchair critic bull shit
is a horrible read.

It really sounds like people here just don't like this sort
of music. Maybe the new Squarepusher won't re-invent music
and how we appreciate it but it's really good, can't you lot
just enjoy it as it is. You're gonna have a really
dissapointing life if you set these musicians up as your
gods.....

I agree, even though I haven't downloaded the new
squarepusher stuff (I want to wait for the CD) everyone is
too quick to criticise, and then after 3 weeks the suddenly
start shouting about how good it is.

what I dont get is why he bothered doing love will tear us
apart,he hasnt really done much to it[I never see the point
of artists doing a cover, and not doing anything new to
it].drill & bass love will tear us apart, now that would of
been interesting.

more of a tribute than a cover, I reckon...his vocals have a
lot of feeling behind em...

very true...SQPR has a lot of soul & isn't just a faceless
techno bod...

I love mathmatical/difficult music (a la AE) but it's
refreshing when someone does something more human...

dont get me wrong theres nothing wrong with it[its a good

definatly do more vocals i think though in the future.

Its not wrong at all to have high expectations on great
artists as Squarepusher, Aphex etc. I mean DID I HAVE HIGH
EXPECTATIONS OR what for Drukqs!! And Aphex Twin fucking did
live up to them and even passed them with Drukqs (my alltime
favourite Aphex album, im a piano and drill fan its just
like he did the album for me ;)

I mean I waited like 6 years for that full length release
and Aphex fucking made the album I waited for!!! Is that
dope or what!?

Even BOC made a incredible album with Geogaddi (the hype and
expectations wasnt even realistic!!!)!

This is a good release but not worth more than EP price.

I really hope that its just an ep with a bonus live disc or
I want order it fo sho..

I still think that its a way to get out of the contract with
warp.

Why u hating on that JD cover when its better than the
original and so full of emotion?

I know what you mean with drukqs[I felt like he made the
album for me-my favourite, love those piano pieces as
well]but with squarepusher I`ve always felt hes done amazing
music, and some duff music,so I never know what to expect
from him.But hes still one of the best musicians out there.

I'd pay that for 4 SQPR tracks....

1 SPR track is worth 100x more than most of the shit out
