I really like the Cure's Mixed Up album, but probably not
better than the original cuts.

Manifesto better.

Are you sure that NIN actually did the remix? Seems kinda
unrealistic is all...

Autechre remix of Merzbow's ecobondage. I haven't heard the
original, but I am sure since his stuff is unlistenable that
it is much better.

Most AFX remixes are beyond cool but one that immediately
springs to mine is the work he did on St Etienne...some
wonderful shit going on there with vocals on both the trax
he did...

And the Underground Resistance mix of Kraftwerks Expo2000 is
much more modern than the original...KW's version sounds
like a parody of itself, if that makes sense...

It's like they programmed the robots to pat them on the back
and say in a robot voice 'Ralph...Florian...new guys....be
true to the original visions...'

Yeah the UR one is just better.

I do like the video tho.... perhaps Nostalgia is good but it
feels real odd to feel nostagic about Kraftwerk, they once
seemed to define the future but now they seem just a bit
quaint and dare I say, old-fashioned...they should be out
there releasing stuff rather than being so afraid of critics
etc...Derrick May had the same problem and didn't release
shit for years after Strings Of Life just because he felt he
couldn't live up to his previous greats...

Weird situation to be in...paralysed by the public...

bjork - all is full of love (video version)

That is one of the best songs ever made imo.

I've always wanted to hear this song in a cathedral.
don't ask me why...I think it's the bassline.

hah.. its always funny reading these old threads thinkiing
they're new and then coming across a comment you made almost
a year ago...

anyways, i think christian kleine's remix of mum's 'on the
old mountain radio' is better than the original
and ulrich schnauss' remix of slowdive's crazy for you..
made a perfect song even more perfect..
and im not sure if it counts..but i think squarepusher's
remix of psultan is slightly better than the chaos ad
original..

aron: that deltron 3030 track isn't actually a remix. it's
an original; they had to call it a "remix" to avoid contract
stuff. no one got scammed either btw.. dan the automator and
mark bell are good friends. it's just one of those issues
with label politics.

the original is just del rapping over a rimshot... not
exactly a song

anyway, loads of remixes are better than the original. good
topic but silly question! ;)

pretty rockin stuff.
