Hey, I read somewhere that you only download records, as
opposed to buying them. If that's the case, any
recommendations? I got 100 CD-Rs and am always lookin' for
new music. Others, feel free to make suggestions, too! All
recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in
advance!

I have lots to recommend!!!! :)

Genesis (Peter Gabriel genesis), Pink Floyd, Led Zepplin,
Peter Gabriel solo, Afro Celt Sound System, Steely Dan, U2,
etc, etc, etc... I've been pretty much told straight out
that my music tastes suck by many people, but check those
out if you haven't already...

I guess if I had to recommend 10 albums off the top of my
head(that aren't Aphex Twin):

The Beatles- White Album
The Beatles- Abbey Road
The Beatles- Revolver
Pink Floyd- Piper at the Gates of Dawn
Rolling Stones- Let it Bleed
Sloan- One Chord to Another
The Who- Live at Leeds
King Crimson- In the Court of the Crimson King
The Kinks- Something Else by the Kinks
The Who- The Who Sell Out

I dunno, I'm just in a big classic rock mood today, I
guess!

Sloan? BLAH!!!!!!!! ;)

You know, an Atlantic Canadian artist I really like from
what I've heard is Joel Plasket... I think he's from
Halifax...

Funkmaster your music tastes suck;p
no not really..but your tastes seem to that of a 60 years
retired accountant..you and Opheks suffer from what we like
to call young foggeyism...I mean Genesis (Peter Gabriel
genesis), Pink Floyd, Led Zepplin,
Peter Gabriel solo, Afro Celt Sound System, Steely Dan, U2,

etc, etc, etc... are not bad per say neither are the Beatles
etc..but..um...
you are listening to higly complex, boundry shattering stuff
like Aphex and on the other these easy listening classic
rock station fodder...just doesnt compute in my head

I'm a rocker at heart... the Beatles just amaze me,
listening to them is always a breath of fresh air.

The electronic stuff may be more ''complex'', but I'd take
a kick ass Who song with them smashing all their instruments
over the most mind bending drill and bass or ambient any
time... though I love both. I get the best of both worlds,
so that's not so bad at all!

It's a cool contrast, hearing Autechre and then putting in
some Pink Floyd... I just love the way they ''clash''... I
love classic rock. Listening to Waterloo Sunset by the Kinks
right now.

Lately it's 70/30 electronic music... but I always go back
to classic rock. And I ALWAYS go back to the Beatles.

I listen to some challenging music, but I love the more
''simple'' stuff, too... a well written pop masterpiece by
Lennon or Townshend always impresses me more than some artsy
pretentious wanker that locks cats in washing machines and
records the results and filters through ten machines and
cuts and pastes it to oblivion and overlaps an orchestra of
chainsaws and kazoos and lazer beams over it.

I love the beatles--always have, always will. The White
Album and Revolver are masterpieces, and lots of those
tracks are boundry-shattering.

well, I like different styles of music for different
moods... I don't want super, highly intellictual music all
the time, sometimes I just want to relax with some beautiful
music feeding into my brain that I don't have to think too
much about... I like most all styles of music for different
reasons...
