Hey Sido, what's your favorite tracks off of Claro or Qtio?

Boards of Canada are overrated as of right now... though I
DO think they're amazing. There's just been this
overexposure, gyargh...

I think Mu-Ziq is overrated... yeah, he's one of the big
daddies of IDM, but I don't see him mentioned enough, I
dunno... it's like Xanatos, god bless him, is the only real
HUGE Mu-Ziq fan here.

offline Clic on 2002-03-19 04:07 [#00130711]

I think he is too (Mu-Ziq). I can't get into a lot of his
material, but I will say that I think some of it's really
good.

do people really enjoy listening to Richard Devine?

its all subjective anyway, well, thats obvious i guess...
some stuff seems to verge on musical masturbation, why
bother listening to it, just make your own tunes to please
yourself.

i guess its a question of who should be better known, easier
to actually buy?

i've always debated if Mike P was all that, he often seems
to be following in RDJs footsteps, without his palete of
emotion or the near perfect balance of song elements that
seem to characterize RDJ. but the Mike P still has some
fine stuff. some of his "drill n bass", which seemed to be
in response to RDJs, has been described as "nintendo on
crack", which can be viewed as a positive or negative.

I like Paradines' more melodic stuff to his attempts at
drill n' bass, tracks like Hasty Boom Alert, My Little
Beautiful, Balsa Lighting, Melancho and what not... great
stuff

I think BoC have been getting a wee-bit overrated, but
they're great to begin with, so it doesn't bug me too much.

As for Richard Devine, I'm not really sure what all the fuss
is about. What little of Lipswitch I've heard is neither
particularly good nor especially bad. It struck as just sort
of average.
