The Analord Mixtape

But, what is all this nostalgic tape-romancing about?

Were you all kids when tapes actually were used? Don´t you
remember the inconvenince with tedious reeltime
musictransfer, the noise, the tapespagetti when your player
ate all your precious recordings, the often unsteady
playback?!?!?

I remember my Sony Walkman VM-DD3 - it was great in 92 but
I´m not missing it, not even little.... My tiny little
flash-based mp3-player beats it big time...

haha, i know man, i know. i cannot help being charmed by the
format though. i've found it to be excellent on long
trainrides. the softness of the sound is more comfortable
compared to discmen i think. i quite like the chewed up
parts of the tape too.

Downloaded this right before I went to school. Will listen
when I get home!

The excitement is kiiiiiilling me, and I'm not getting much
work done here.

Infact, I had better sign off and do some work..

My car is full of tapes!

Vlari is awesome super champion!

And for the record I do listen to other things besides punk.

Just got home from work Vlari and of course, I'm downloading
both sides right now...I just expect the best from you, like
always, this had to be one of your excellent Mix
Masterpieces ;) As soon as I hear, will post right here
friend, thanx 4 sharing with us... :)

...it was a lot more fun and easy to make custom made
tape-sleeves, back-covers for cds are a bit more tricky...

Any whay - I don´t want to whine, but I´m a bit fed up
about tapes right now. All my old tracks and impros are on
old Dolby S tapes and my Sony 3head deck plays them with a
"eeeeeeeeeeiiiiiiiiii"-sound and the result is "pitchbendy"
if you now what I mean? :/ (that´s why md is praised by me)

Having listened to both sides now, I can only say... to take
on the Analords, all 11 of them, alone, and come up with a
mix that enhances and reveals elements of the original
sources, whilst also creating something new AND also being a
sexy goddamn mix, is the work of a true artist.

i have never bothered with this analord business (got a few
random tracks only) but this mix is a fantastic way to
discover aphex's latest release. Thanks a bunch, vlari!

I'm really rather enjoying these, and that's coming from one
of the analord hat0rz. Side b is spot on, velly good.

Vlari, what can I say that hasn't been said here :/ I
consider both mixes a masterpiece, what treatments you use
on Live? Any filters, EQs?? I love every mix I have heard,
but this.......Sorry Vlari, no words to describe it right
now...You're the man...I use to love all Analords releases,
but this one........Awesome, nicely done, like Dog_Belch
said, "It's a work of a REAL artist :)

I set up 4 channels of audio, each with a basic 3band eq and
one filterunit (that i didn't use except on one track), just
to "replicate" the normal setup that i'm used to. i also had
a simple delay and reverb running on send a and b
respectively. all are standard effects in Live.

i'm glad you liked it

This is brilliant, I gotta say. You've really transformed
the Analords into something much different to what RDJ had.
These mixes sound much different to mine. I'd call these
more remixes, or maybe bloody brilliant remixes. I CAN'T GET
ENOUGH!
