Does it matter what the RAM of my CPU is when I use programs like Fruityloops... what will it affect?
I have 64. My computer is a pretty fast one, but 64 is less than average, innit?

You can never have too much. RAM is cheap now. I'd recommend at least 128 megs. More is better for content creation such as fruity loopz.

What will less RAM do? I'm going to upgrade, but what kind of improvements can I expect? Better sound, less distortion, etc etc? Anything like that?

More RAM = more samples loaded/playing at once, faster encoding to MP3 and less 'slow down' on screens with many windows open.
I have 512mb and have no problems :)

More samples playing without a big decrease in quality, you mean?

It shouldn't be too bad quality when you convert it to wav/mp3, just when you play it back in program.
Mind you, it'll take longer to convert.

ya when u convert it to mp3 it shouldn't make much of a dif in quality cus all the same info is there.. ur computer will just have to keep going to ur hard drive for it cus only so much can be stored in RAM... this slows it down...
on my old computer, w/ only 48mb ram, when i had a track w/ lots of different tracks or many different samples at once it would slow down and even the audio would get choppy

i doubt the RAM would make the big difference between it ending up a good track or a shitty track. you could alsways use it as an excuse though. no reason not to at least double your RAM. ask your mom for 30 bucks canadian.

Its like a 2.0L engine or a 3.0L engine. The 3.0L doesn't make you a better driver .. but sure is nice to drive ?!
