I LIKE DRUKQS...

rF from purf on 2001-10-19 16:17 [#00043679]

... in fact i think its the best damn album richard has ever
released... i dunno why everyone's all saying stuff like
'drukqs is boring, there are so many filler tracks etc'..
fucking hell if he made an entire album of noise i'd still
buy it, because the way he constructs his tracks is like
nobody else ..

my opinion anyway

your opinion is WRONG

even if he did just throw it all together to fill contract,
its proof that the man cant help but to create brilliance

rf - you're a bit of a sycophant if you'd buy an album of
noise, just cos it's got afx stamped on it. you may as well
stick you're tongue right down the back of his trousers.

hm, drukqs not his best or most innovative work. aphex has
never really been good at making an album flow together well
but this one is a step in the right direction. i think all
the worthwhile stuff could have been fit on to one cd. i
think a you could compare this to nin's the fragile, in that
it's new stuff but it just doesn't capture what made the old
material so good.

Let me rephrase:
I WOULD buy an afx album of extreme noise, because:
a) I'm into extreme noise, and
b) The way richard crafts his beats/noise/melodies is very
interesting in my opinion...
I'm not saying i'd buy anything with the aphex name stamped
on it, if rdj made an album of country tracks i wouldn't buy
it, however if he made bluegrass i prolly would :) .. ... ..
.. .. .

richard really didn't jhust throw this album together. he
said in a recent interview that if he could choose, he would
release Drunkqs on Rephlex.

i agree,
1. people are even more phychophanatical if they immediatly
change thier oppinion just cause the artists says so.
2.i think the album is better as a complete listen than as a
song by song track skipper.
3.were'nt you same people complaining about bad magazine
reviews up untill richard said he doesnt like warp anymore.

that said he would have released drukqs anyway hes never
glorified his albums and has refered to his songs as crap.
so when you hear him say drukqs was thrown together take it
with a large amount of salt. richard is never too serious
and has NEVER hailed ANY of his albums! so think for
yourself people and stop quoting the man!
