heard? i recently heard a song by some shit techno group
that had a robot that stated how they didnt play guitars,
didnt do drugs, but instead make electronic music..the worst
electronic music ive heard at that, i almost pulled my hair
out

OPM, that song that has the chorus that goes... "i dont give
a fuck, not a single fuck, not a single solitary fuck, i
dont give a fuck, motherfucker."

thats the worst song ever.

This song that went "stop that train, I want to get off" by
vanilla Ice sucked pretty bad. Lot's of stuff on mtv relies
on the visuals of the music videos (ie the dancing chicks)
while the music itself is quite lame. Some lame stuff has an
appealing quality just due to it's over amplified lameness,
like Wham with george michael, songs sung by barney, that
crazy dance the teletubbies do where the bump into eachother
and fall down... "would you like to buy an O?" sung by Ernie
I think or "rubber ducky" on sesamie street. That song where
the grouch makes a "B" sandwich was quite wicked. And the
one "I love trash" also by the grouch was a masterpiece. i
hated most of the songs big bird sang like "I'm a blue bird"
when those guys captured him and kept him in a cage for a
show to make money, but that Mrs. Finch bird was honestly
scary, how she mirrored human behavior in her own muppety
way. I also don't like "one little star in the sky" very
much by big bird. They should have had the grouch star in
the movie. I hear the Snuffalupagus can make a mean tune,
but I havn't heard one.

i've got a version of The Isrealites by Desmond Dekker
re-worked by Too Damn Dread which is a mighty fine slice of
ear bleeding cheese.

That one really 'rocked' my world some years ago...

dingle berry from on a small plastic chair breathing fire on 2001-09-25 12:53 [#00036209]

that barbie girl track of aquas was quite good if you liked
dressing up in your little sisters tutu and wanking into
eggcups!

phiz from Amsterdam on 2001-09-25 12:58 [#00036211]

badorb.com is releasing mixes of Barbie Girl now for the
next month, mixes by The Orb, Thomas Fehlmann and
S.E.Berlin. top stuff.

anything self-servingly sanctimonious or navel-gazingly
lame;
eg.
Another day in paradise- phil collins
how do i live without you?- leeann rimes
really gets under the skin

rez on 2001-09-25 16:28 [#00036261]

i dont see how it's possibe to name any one song.

fluffy bunny on 2001-09-25 16:33 [#00036262]

indeed .. it would be like naming "the best song you ever
heard.." --

having said that > all them boyz bandz gotta be down there
.. i'm sure like a rare b side/remix of a backstreet or so
would perfectly qualify

Mat from Birmingham, UK on 2001-09-25 17:29 [#00036266]

well the worst recent one has to be the "so solid crew" one,
21 seconds.

dingle berry from on a small plastic chair breathing fire on 2001-09-25 17:33 [#00036269]

that wierd 80s tune talk about pop music!
that was well shite.

Afterthought from Chicago on 2001-09-25 18:20 [#00036277]

90's music is bad, boy bands are laughable...but what about
shit like Creeds "Arms Wide Open", anything by Alanis
Morrisite, or that horrible Offspring song that ripped off
the Beatles?

shr from h on 2001-09-25 18:35 [#00036279]

please not a bad word about phil collins. hes the man.
touches me.

i´m dirty priest i just cant be bothered to write it.

Blümchen "heute ist mein tag" is pretty anoying if anyone
knows it. =)

Netlon Sentinel from yurp on 2001-09-25 20:45 [#00036302]

normally i'm the biggest fan of the smashing pumpkins you're
likely to bump into, however in 1998 (i believe) they
released a song called Christmas Time....
AAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! the humanity of
it all!!!!! terrible american commercialization even hits my
favourite band...

fOrTkNoX from analog soundscape on 2001-09-25 20:48 [#00036303]

soccer girl EP....by kid 606

Afterthought from Chicago on 2001-09-25 20:49 [#00036304]

smashing pumpkins is the definition of american
commercialization.... straight up rock and roll with nothing
special...ideal for mtv. 1979 was pretty horrible though...

Afterthought from Chicago on 2001-09-25 20:50 [#00036305]

does the soccergirl ep suck that bad? down with the scene
sucks but p.s. I love you is pretty good...

fOrTkNoX from analog soundscape on 2001-09-25 20:50 [#00036306]

daft punk.....shite.....pretty shity music...

fOrTkNoX from analog soundscape on 2001-09-25 20:52 [#00036307]

soccer girl is pretty stupd....
but thats just my thought,....

Netlon Sentinel from yurp on 2001-09-25 20:52 [#00036308]

in defense of the pumpkins.

i'm sorry dude. i have to reply. you have to listen to the
albums in full before you judge. NONE of the singles are
representative any of the albums. except maybe zero.
they were one of the few bands that had a special sound in
the first place.

but i digress.

fOrTkNoX from analog soundscape on 2001-09-25 20:53 [#00036309]

im not a verry big kid606 fan/...

Afterthought from Chicago on 2001-09-25 20:53 [#00036310]

is it like down with the scene? just silly distortion on
breakbeats and annoying sounds sloppily programmed?

Afterthought from Chicago on 2001-09-25 20:54 [#00036311]

i've listened to all of the albums in full, don't give me
that shit... gish is good, siamese dream is great, pisces
iscariot is pretty cool, and melon collie had some good
songs... and everything after that SUCKS.

fOrTkNoX from analog soundscape on 2001-09-25 20:55 [#00036312]

he trys to hard to distort his beats.....
kinda anoying....
anybody could make down with the sence...

just download hammer head....
and distort you shits...and add samples...
...i like his softer music...

fOrTkNoX from analog soundscape on 2001-09-25 20:56 [#00036313]

hes..a computer hacker not a artist.....

Afterthought from Chicago on 2001-09-25 20:56 [#00036314]

...besides netlon...what do you mean "special sound"?
distorted guitars and a whiny voice? they're have been 8
million bands before them that did this

Netlon Sentinel from yurp on 2001-09-25 20:56 [#00036315]

dear. and you're from chicago, too!

;)

Afterthought from Chicago on 2001-09-25 20:58 [#00036317]

they're pretty much laughd at here... it's much more indie
rock orientated now (which is even worse) because at least
billy could play guitar... the bands popular here make it by
playing and singing bad on purpose (like pavement)

Netlon Sentinel from yurp on 2001-09-25 21:00 [#00036318]

special sound... hmm. that's a tough one. i guess the sound
of songs like cherub rock, thru the eyes of ruby, mayonaise.
kinda inexplicable.

but you got to hand it to 'em: they're the only band who
allow their leadsinger to actually sing out of tune during
concerts and still the music sounds magical!

Netlon Sentinel from yurp on 2001-09-25 21:01 [#00036319]

pavement is rather dull imo.

you're the ministry type of person, then?

Afterthought from Chicago on 2001-09-25 21:02 [#00036320]

see cheap trick..another chicago band from the 70's that did
the exact same thing...(billy's biggest influence)...anyway
it's far from the worst i've ever heard...just mildly
annoying at times... not as bad anything on mtv nowadays

Afterthought from Chicago on 2001-09-25 21:04 [#00036321]

fuck no... nothing that like...i like skinny puppy, who
ministry ripped off.. Props to Canada for Skinny Puppy...
and coil, and joy division, and the swans, and aphex, and
VU, and others

Netlon Sentinel from yurp on 2001-09-25 21:06 [#00036322]

well i guess the pumpkins did something to my generation (at
least some of us) that was completely new and innovative.
there's always bands who've done it before. i'm sure the
pumpkins influenced a lot of people. hell, even mr. durst!
if you go back in time you'll find elements in pumpkin music
of led zeppelin, black sabbath... up to new order obviously.

but are they really laughed at in chicago???

Afterthought from Chicago on 2001-09-25 21:16 [#00036326]

yeah kind of...obviously the hardcore fans still love them
(and there's a lot of them) but the rock scene (which i have
no interst in, btw) is so indie now that they're seen as big
whiny gen x sellouts...

Boris The Dog on 2001-09-25 21:24 [#00036328]

Milla Jovovich's Little Light of Love, Gentlemen, and One.
She's that actress who played Leeloo in The Fifth Element,
she makes really shit sortof techno rock. And she did a
really fucked up cover of Satellite Of Love.

Afterthought from Chicago on 2001-09-25 21:27 [#00036330]

isn't it ironic... don't you think? that alanis morrishit
song makes me sick to my stomach...

chris from berlin on 2001-09-25 21:35 [#00036334]

sorry, for blubbering disturbance again,
but i tried to put up a 'bottom five' of unbearable stuff...
well for me, that is..

0 (will never be reached, hopefully)
-1.aerosmith/europe/bon jovi...
-2.mr.president/dj bobo/dj ötzi
-3.down low/fugees/fred durst & co.
-4.these bloody german 2-syllable technolabels (kompakt,
neuton, parfum...)
-5.oh i forgot britney/christina/foxy and
their male counterparts....

oh yeah and mozart sucks pretty much, but bach is kinda
cool. (honestly)
debussy (among others) is unmatched though

"The Whistle Song" by Dj Alligator Project
and
"The Greatest Love of All" by Whitney Houston.

but explain this to me: why does mozart sucks? and bach in
his pretty-looking barock time doesnt?

Hedgeman from zurich-ch on 2001-09-25 21:48 [#00036341]
