Seems Rockstar aren't holding off GTA4 for the PS3 release
as originally hinted- they've just registered "GTA: San
Andreas" which people specualte will be another GTA3 engine
based update.

In other news GTA Vice City is a nomination for some UK
desing award.

I'd love to play GTA online where half are police and half
are crims. they have to get a certain amount of money by a
time limit and the police have to stop them. You could still
have the normal CPU controlled Police, but maybe have the
human police players as more powerful Detectives or even
able to possess police, matrix style.

Even a 2 player would be great. I hope they don't just make
it into a racing game like multiplayer in previous
incarnations...

PS3 has been in development for ages- just before PS2 was
released I believe. They're already bandying stats around
(like systems ever live up to them ;) ) allegedly it'll be
100 times as power as a P4 1.2Ghz machine (I think I read
that in Edge magazine).

Didn't Edge say that the original PSX had no chance, and
that everyone should get a 3DO...? ;)

Wow...sounds VERY cool....Yeah I had never heard of it
before...Man these game systems are just gonna be compact
little PC's for gaming soon enough....

DC is- it runs windows CE and even makes as much noise as a
PC :) You can get kits to write s/w for it. I've seen
keyboard, mouse and linux kits for PS2s as well. The
"dumbing down" of home computing is finally here!

There are some, but it'll ruin the game!

Do a search online.

I'd love a multiplayer version - it'd be great to choose a
gang to work with, or even choose to be FBIl ro police.
It's seems like a natural thing to do, I wonder why Rockstar
haven't released extra missions discs. Like what Blueshift
and Opposing Forces was for Halflife etc...

I used to play GTA 1 & 2 Deathmatch over a serial cable it
was pretty fun, but as there are no police in the
multiplayer mode it just becomes like micromachines. Still a
fun game, but like you say, GTA3 type DM would be so good.
