1 is cd, 2 is vinyl and 3 is cd

3 seperate albums, each unique.. all released within a few
weeks of eachother.

Start with part one..

part one and three were released on cd and vinyl, while part
3 is a vinyl release only
every part was released seperatly

Astrobotnia Part 1 and Part 2 are on (different) CDs, but
Part 3 is only on vinyl.

All the previous responses have been incorrect. Here is the
actual one:

Astro 1 Vinyl and CD
Astro 2 Vinyl
Astro 3 Vinyl and CD

All seperate releases.
Hope this helps.

are all of them good??
which is the best?
Is it silly to have one without the others?

My favourite is 1. A lot of people seem to agree this is the
best. However quite a few people here like 3 more. 1&3 are
pretty similair. 2 is quite differnet. Sort of retro acid.
An early 90s feel to it. Old samples and old sounding drums.

Most people would agree that 2 is the weakest.

The astrobotnia series was actually what prompted me to get
decks- I wanted all 3 in the same format and I only had a
turntable at my parents' house. I thought that so many good
releases are on vinyl/cheaper that I may as well buy a set
of decks.

i'll swap you 2 + 3 on vynil for something?

i am seeking The Orb - Adventures beyond the Ultraworld on
vynil.

will swap for both 2+3, or Mike and Rich

I have all three on vinyl and CD. Part 2 on CD is a bootleg
from the net tho. I had the promo too (from rephlex.com) but
gave it away when I got the set.

S'nice but didn't have me hooked.

before i found out it was ovuca, i was really impressed with
this "new guy". then i found out and was all, "oh this guy
already has dope stuff out" so it kinda numbed the whole
experience for me...

the NASA cover arts are beautiful.. it was so nice not to
see an electronic album with a bunch of fuckin polygons and
photoshop mess all over the place, you know? it like, just
put a fucking pretty picture on it..

anyways..

Like on the new N.O.W album ;)

It's "club" dance music 12" cover art that annoys me. So
generic. I like minimal design when it's done well, e.g.
this site, warpmart, g3rmorg, etc. but some record covers
are so bland. pink with a pair of blue and green parallel
lines running down it, record label logo, barcode and text
in a standard font. Wow, that must of taken all of half an
hour...

Yeah, I guess the whole whole disposable nature of club
music lends itself to the 'disposable' cover art...

Cover art has gotten so shitty as of late.. I mean, c'mon
you have 12"x12" to show people whatever you want..

If I ever get to release an album, I'm going to have suck
kick-ass cover art. People are going to buy that shit even
if they never heard of me (and trust me, they won't).

erheh..

"such", not "suck"..

Yes, I nearly bought Funki Porcini "Fast Asleep" on vinyl
despite having it on CD/DVD for the cover art. I think 12"
should have different art to CDs of the same thing- same
theme/style, but different images. I imagine it'd make
people more inclined to buy both too.

Nope English bloke on Ninja Tunes, the inlay of fast asleep

is a review of it written in french for some reason.

It does sound Italian though :)

James Bradell... not Italians...
Anyway "FUNGHI PORCINI" in Italians means "type of edible
mushroom" or something similiar. It's the best quality of
mushrooms.

I'd heard Porcini used before, but suspected "funki" was
just meant to sound like "Funky" thanks for clearing that up
woofer.

the only complaint i have is that neither of the vynils for
1 & 3 have the NASA cover :'( just a plain colour, it would
have been so class to have the big pictures...

think there's AFX hand in Astrobotnia pt.2, especially in
untitled#5

2 is my favourite
that aside the whole is just ever so slightly overhyped and
overrated..

untitled number 5 features snippets of horrible old finnish
comedy shows so that makes me think ovuca of it.

Cool Neetta, i didn't know that. A lot of ppl thought it was
a bad Spanish (RDJ enjoyed to speak Spanish as a joke)

Anyway all Astrobotnia are by Ovuca but there could be a
little collaboration of other rephlex artists inside, imo.

i think they are in "honour"/honour of a great finnish
comedian called pertti pasanen ;) he died 2001 or 2002 cant
remember

My final opinion: Ovuca made all tracks on Astrobotnia...
but probably he had the help of other rephlex artist.
I think it's Astrobotnia is a rephlex project made by Ovuca
& Co.

Time ago, Phob didn't know who was Astrobotnia so like
everybody he had his theory and supposition about it.
He thought (as me) who it was a collaboration between more
rephlex artists.

Now Astrobotnia shown his face in laptop set lives, so i
think there aren't doubts more. (anyway a little
collaboration is always possible)
