Anyone heard of Molière? He was a french author in the 17th century and wrote lots of comedies, i.e. "The Misanthrope", "The Miser" and "The Hypochondriac"
I bought some books by him and even tho it's rather "ancient", it makes me laugh somehow and I really like it!!

yeah, I can imagine he was considered pretty sociocritical at this era as well, I think...
he seemed to have a disaffection against doctors and medicine in general, as read in "the hypochondriac", and doctors were eminently respectable at that time I reckon.
