Anyone else read about these raelian dudes that claim to
have cloned the first ever human? I don't know if that's
true or not but I really dig their ideology.

They claim that aliens came down and reproduced with us to
advance our evolutionary cycle. It explains that missing
link theory and makes a lot more sense than any other
religion I've heard of.

I'm a raelian now.

there is overwhelming scietific evidence supporting
evolution... yeah, there are some gaps, but, to my knowledge
there is no theory that is nearly as strong. Aliens seeded
the human race 25,000 years ago??? I'm pretty sure there is
evidence of intelligent civilizations that are older than
25,000 years.

Plus, They go out of their way to get as much publicity as
possible, but, then offer no evidence to support their
claims at all. They claim that they are protecting the
parties involved from legal and other types of persecution,
but, if that was really true we wouldn't have heard about
any of this shit.

it also reiterates the question, who created the creator?
its proposed that we were made here cos cloning was outlawed
on the elohims own planet.

questions! its an interesting tangent, if you dont find it
to be an offensive one, that is.

well, their beliefs are based on an experience that rael had
(in the 70s?). i don't know the specifics but he was either
brought on board an alien ship or just communicateed with
them here on earth and they told him of this alien decent
theory. now, it's not conclusive, but there is much
evidence that the aliens that have been abducting people are
psychological/spiritual beings and the abductions are not
explicit external physical experiences but are "internal."
dr. richard strauss (a friend of a friend) releases a book
detailing his study of the psychedelic DMT molecule that is
found in the human body. one strong theory is that it is
produced in the pineal gland, the "third eye" lying at the
center of your brain. countless experiements with fairly
heroic doses of DMT both legal/professional (under the
authority of dr. strauss) and illegal/amature have revealed
incredible experiences that involve contact and interaction
(sometimes very intense and intimate) with alien presences.
the resemblance between many DMT trip reports and many
abduction reports are undeniably profound.

Aliens this and aliens that.

WE ARE ALL ALIENS!

This is true because we are made of stuff that comes from
space. Just like aliens. We seeded ourself. Where's my
DMT-bag, it's tea time!

For real, I heard that spores of the so called magic
mushrooms can stand both extreme heat and cold and is found
high up in the atmosphere and that one teory is that when
you trip on them, the things you see are actually telepatic
contact with extra-terrestrial beings.

offline rockenjohnny from champagne socialism (Australia) on 2003-01-07 11:37 [#00505300]

aye the idea of us being made from stuff which comes from
space has scientific backing

take the sun for example. it doesnt prouduce anything
heavier than iron, however theres a lot heavier matter to be
found on earth

this points toward the possibilty of some cosmic event
resulting in the formation of the planets -> galaxies etc

the fact that such heavier metals can be found in our own
bloodstreams leads us to the rather cool saying, 'we are
made of stars'

or in other words, we are intrinsically related to the
universe beyond our own immediate system :)

how about the theory that the spores of the magic mushrroms
themselves, being able to withstand extremes, are alien
intellegences that came from another planet? :) the spore
shell is among the toughest biomaterial known.

its a form of buddhist philosophy, and something which makes

tantalising isnt it? im so close to being that way. the

:)

its a goal.

all stems from my worries (which are reasonably heavy shitz,
not as 'stupid' as ill make out)

so i still have escapist urges. go out, drink some, chat up
girls. sound familiar? :]

damn its a tough call. a mate of mine, hes real smart, and
is like me in this way of thinking. he rekns if he can just
keep escaping the concerns till hes gone, itll all be ok,
good times will be had

in my heart tho i know im gonna have to face the heavy shit
soon. and i also know that when i do, ill be rewarded.

its gonna take a hell of a lot of balls. but theres nothing
worse than living in doubt. dont i know that too well.

to face the heavy shit you're going to need a lot of heart,
some bone marrow and nerve endings. balls may come in handy
too.

i don't know that you have to give up your attraction to

though. and a drink doesn't have to be an escape :)

Oh, and if they've produced the first cloned child, I'll eat

i know it's quite possble that the raelians did not
successfully clone a child, but it is far from impossible so
i don't know why you're so certain. all the scientists are
so arogant, "they don't have any scientific record, no
published papers, there's no way they could do it!" with
the right determination, like the kind fuled by religion,
things can be done that you would not imagine.

As I said, if they HAVE cloned not just one, but 2 babies,
with more on the way, I'll eat my hat.

This is an example of the people we are dealing with...

"In 1990, the Raelians changed their symbol, originally a
Swastika inside a Star of David. . ."

what does a symbol change mean? i don't think the idea of
alien decent is any further out than the idea that god
impregnated mary who then gave birth to god's son who is
also god himself made flesh. i think it's silly to think
that you know something just by reading into these people.
the fact is we may never know now.

lots of scientists all over the world have offered to do
unbiased dna-testing.

still they refuse.

there was the leader of the dutch division of the Raelians
on tv a few nights ago and he said they don't even really
want to prove the existance of the cloned babies.

stopped thinking about what can be done and instead start
thinking more about what should be done.

thats not what science is about.

thats where philosophy and more specific, ethics come in.

I'm not saying scientists should just do everything they
think is interesting, but in principal its not their first
priority.
