going to war

hevquip from a giraffes throat on 2001-09-13 17:02 [#00031509]

if us americans were to go to war or bomb the terrorist
harboring nations, what are your opinions? personally, i
wouldn't mind shooting some stuff.

mg from vilkaviskis on 2001-09-13 17:13 [#00031510]

i think killing sucks.
americans attacked first.

Schwarzewaldekirshetorte from the black forest on 2001-09-13 17:13 [#00031511]

America funds terrorism. Has done for years. CIA trained bin
Laden. Shooting a few people won't change that. People need
to look at why this fucking happened, not just make stupid
knee-jerk comments like that.

hevquip: you have messed up.

Ummmm on 2001-09-13 17:31 [#00031516]

My speculation is this;

Americans are gunhappy lunatics. They scare me more than any
terrorist threat.

I would like to emphasize that I do not condone mass murder
in any way. Be it for freedom, or oppression.

I have a feeling that when the americans are taken out of
the #1 worldwide bully position, and the truth comes out,
they will be guilty of more inhumanities than hitler, or
stalin. The thing is, mostly everyone in Germany during the
time of the second world war was unaware of what was really
happening. Only a select few knew about it all.

What frightens the hell out of me, is that american
opression is occuring on totally different soil. With the
detached mentality of the americas, they would probly much
rather not know about their own dirty laundry.

Spot on.

thanksomuch from over yonder on 2001-09-13 17:53 [#00031520]

ummm is right. i a constantly ashamed to be an american. i
know there are countries out there that have done some
terrible things, but so have we. just like some sort of
communist government, we know little of what we really have
done.
all i have to say is, and i have said it before, we must go
about this carefully....

Quoth from Berlin on 2001-09-13 22:32 [#00031600]

since i'm an american in Europe... i would disagree with the
fact that "they [we] did it [attacked] first"... i'm taking
you literally, because "America" was a break from the
English. personally though, i hate the fact that we along
with some other species in the science world are the only
things that kill each other. why the fuck do we even
consider war? i'm very disturbed that we don't respect
others beliefs, if they want to spread the word of a god or
whatever, why should we say that we should stop them?

fluffy bunny from easter on 2001-09-13 23:57 [#00031621]

Well ...

America HAS to (in the view of the public and western
community) do something, not doing so in a way admitts
defeat.

However, what I am somewhat afraid of is that any action
they take will then be a legitimate cause for retaliation
(that previously was NOT directly associated with the
terrorists/action)

?

Quoth from Berlin on 2001-09-14 02:47 [#00031648]

wouldn't "going to war" be just like what the terrorists did
to America? America will let the people know that they just
fucked with the wrong people and they will not let it
stand... i'm just pissed off at a retaliation from the U.S.
because we all end up dying no matter what and i really
don't see the point in killing off millions of innocent
people just to stop a few "bad-guys".

Bobby from gilly on 2001-09-14 02:53 [#00031652]

Thankssomuch..
well, I am sure YOU have done many bad things also! but, If
you get robbed, we want action right? same ting maybe our
ancestors did some drastic things in the past, but hey, this
is really seroius and it needs to be dealt with and yes we
do have to go about it delicatly and with full support of
the entire world, which I think we have. And I think the
people who have been venting there anger on innocent
arabians, muslims are just as gulity as those terrosits were
they are Americans also and they Love living here, ask them
about how great America is I bet they are more patriotic
than Thankssomuch is...

Quoth from Berlin on 2001-09-14 02:57 [#00031654]

respect people please :)

peace

e~e()~e from ranch dressing please on 2001-09-14 05:32 [#00031677]

Ummmm you are a huge moron
how do you stereotype all americans as gun totting
pyschos... all arabians must be terrosits then right? thats
what your saying, one reflects all...
what right do you have to act like you have had any sort of
real tragedy and pain in your life and we that we now
deserve it.. , you sound like a proud arrogant nazi, hell
bent on bringing down a decent culture... what are you
jelous because amercians have soo ,much tought shit for you,
go get a job and make a living for yourself, and quit
looking over here for guilt you have in your own life.
IDIOT!!

Quoth from Berlin on 2001-09-14 05:47 [#00031680]

who was that directed to? i'm an american in berlin...
confusion

justin on 2001-09-14 05:53 [#00031684]

these antagonistic comments are quite hypocritical, they
condemn the act while simultaneously manifesting as a
microcosm of it.

Barrett, Syd from Toronto on 2001-09-14 05:54 [#00031686]

i'm shocked at the sheer stupidity of most of the posts i've
seen on this messageboard over this topic. alot of people
really don't seem to have any idea what they're talking
about.

i.e. people thinking this is the beginning of nuclear war.

e~e()~e from jimmycrackcorn on 2001-09-14 05:58 [#00031687]

it was directed at ummmmm.. he was spouting off like we
deserve this like he has ever been through anything remotely
this tragic. like some how he has the right to tell us all
how the proud gun totting americans now see what the rest of
the world deals with.. please.. we have been through a hell
of a lot. more than him probably living out his moms
basement..
