i turrned to IDM when no rrock bands werre doing it forr
me, which was a long time ago now, and now the same thing is
happening again, no music is matching up to my expectations.

barr GYBE! and Sonic Youth most music is borring me. I can't
wait forr Radioheads new album, but otherr than that, i'm at
a loss.

i know that feeling; i hoe new ae will get me out of this,
meanwhile i rediscovered funkstörungs c'est la vie and
rdj's every day.
but it's not like the days i got into aphex and ae

surelly there are some rare releases by idm artists, that
you dont have and can look forward to getting? theres always
some good music out there that you (the metaphorical 'you')
dont have.

sure, but it's not like diving into a completly new world,
in a way i know what to expect from rare aphex and rare ae
and so on.
but my expectations are too high, i also cannot hope that
after six years with my gf it will be the same as in the
first week. there are other things that do count, when it
comes to music as well as when it comes to girls

o man therre is so much music i don't have, but at the
moment i don't rreally know if i want it all that much. its
goes in cirrcles, at the moment i feel like this, in a few
weeks time therre will be too many CD's i want... but rright
now, its hitting an all time low.

yeah thats the main problem with new music, expectations. if
u expect one thing and get another you wont like it, even if
its good music in its own right, and itll take you ages to
'get' it.
If your looking for a new genre of music to get into, then
there are lots available, try big beat or classical or
something.....

i heve the same prob- i know that there is a lot idmish
stuff i havent heard enough (phoenecia for example) but it
all sounds so aphex- or ae-like. i dont know- maybe it is a
lttle crisis...

Try Race, My Puppet Pal and On The Rose for Tiger. Midmay
and Lady Lazarus for StonySleep. If you don't like those
tracks then you won't like anything else those guys do.

I love Tiger, they kick ass.

Once a week I seem to have a day where no band/artist can
please me and fulfill me.

I feel like I'm running out of really AMAZING artists to get
into.

Then again, I've felt this way for a couple years and I
always find something great.

But still! ARG!

hey i found something refreshing: console - reset the
preset.
just listening to the first tunes on cd1, little, nice,
console-like melodies, more the electro-pop direction
depression over for me ;)

whenever i'm 'musically unfulfilled' i start making my own
music, whether it's with a guitar or with a pc. that helps.
it'll make you crave for good music afterwards

"

I had this happen to me a long time ago, and thats when I
started to make my own music, music that I wanted to hear.
Maybe you should try it out anus, its fun stuff

Thanks to me he IS trying it out, I recommended using FL3.
He's made one track that I know of, knowing him he has given
up already.
