hey glass:

I'm not a big fan of your medium, but I think your work is
first rate good.

Keep 'em comming, that Jeyko Holding a Teapot is kinda scary
though!

-indeterminate light source.
-line quality is inconsistant.
-more contrast between forground and background.
-differentiate the toning.
-define your shapes more.
-thats your shadowing?
-no reflected light?

they're really cool, your obviously into your mythological
creatures.

Dolleater's got some good points tho, just dont add too
much.. i always did that, and spoilt them :-/

Of course I enlarged it.
There was more things I noticed than just the shadowing.

Very nice design. I wish there was more to your background.

My recomendation: Buy more pencils of varying hardness. Try
to use at least 6. Define your shapes more and go to work.
:D

hey man, you sound like me:

don't make excuses because you get a little critcism and
negative feedback.

those are YOUR drawings. you created them and you finished
them, so I conclude that you like them.

If there are fine points people can make to help you get
better, fine, but don't ever discount your early work.

offline Dolleater from Afrika Bambaataa on 2003-01-01 10:55 [#00497395]

I wish I would have been scanning and archiving my drawings
when I was a little kid. Id like to see the how my skils
progressed, I would add dates and comments, even for little
shit drawings Id do on a napkin or something. I would have
had a diary depicting my life through illustrations. I will
make sure that I do this with my own children when I have
them accidently.

You should also know that by dislaying your work to the
public you will recieve critisism, this is inherent. You
have to take it for what its worth sometimes. Discount
overly generalized and indirected comments like "it sucks"
or "I dont like it". Those are all relative statements. Your
art is very good and it will continue to mature as long as
you deconstruct it into its positive and negative characters
and reconstruct using what youve learned on your next piece.
Having people critique your work certianly helps.

hehe, thanks man.

take what dolleater said and see if a few points apply. If
they do, try to incorporate them into your drawing.

this is the important point:

If these changes make your painting better from YOUR point
of view, then you have learned and grown.

If they just add clutter, then you are more wise, and can
easily understand your more simple approach at first.
