wizards teeth on 2001-09-10 11:20 [#00030489]

Hello.

Two questions if you please :

1. Does anyont know how to get a turntable to play backwards
without using your hands?

2. I have started to use stomper to create some nice hard
drum sounds, it is a nice programme, i have started to make
some sounds to dance to that hurt my ears when i listen to
them, this is dangerouse. Are there any other programmes
similair to this.

Thanks
Teeth

you can allways reverse the polarity of the drivebelt
thingy, that might just make it blowup though :)

If it's a Technics SL1200, you can buy a kit from specialist
Hi-Fi/DJ shops to make it play backwards. It cost about
£100 I think. Or you could buy one of the new posh Vestax
decks, which play backwards. Other than that, it's the
manual method.

I thought sl10's played backwards anyway......

so can anyone tell me of a place to get some samples that
make your ears bleed ?

How about sampling Whitehouse, Their live gigs used to make
people have nose bleeds and be violently sick!

Wicked!

wizards teeth on 2001-09-10 13:43 [#00030507]

I have never heard of whitehouse, i will investigate

I once was parked behind a van near the beach, bangra music
was coming from the back of it and i felt quite sick as it
was resonating at the correct frequency to cause stomach
upsets.

Does anyone know if it is possible to obtain samples of the
machine that the police use to halt baddies. It is a bit
like a sonic gun i think

use drumsynth
to make drum noises.

Sound Assassin from The Studio on 2001-09-10 15:38 [#00030521]

Whitehouse are on a small UK independent label called Susan
Lawley, if that helps, Unless you live in the UK I should
imagine that its pretty hard to come by!

There music is basically lots of extreme noise (high pitch
etc,...) with lots of shouting over the top! Not the kind of
thing you can sit down and listen to!

I have quite a lot of their stuff (god knows why, since its
all pretty much the same!!! I just like spending money!)

Have fun.

i can tell you how to make your turntable play backwards.
take off the cartridge, and put it back on upside down. put
an ashtray on the turntable then put the record on the
ashtray, with the track you want to play on the underneath
of the record. then put something else on top as a weight.
et voila. bit fiddly, but sounds cool.

1. Does anyont know how to get a turntable to play backwards
without using your hands?

It's simple. Tell someone else next to you to do it. Their
hands would be used instead of yours thus resulting in your
hands not being used. Of course, your question asked if
Anyont knows how to do this... I don't know this person (if
it is a person) named Anyont, and I don't know if he/she
knows how to get a turntable to play backwards without the
using ones hands. But I have answered your question, so
hopefully you no longer need the advice of this other
person.

2. I have started to use stomper to create some nice hard
drum sounds, it is a nice programme, i have started to make

I only know the crappy software program Modplug tracker, and
I currently refuse to use anything else. This program would
not be very good for making your ears bleed, because it's a
pain just to make the volume suitable for normal listening
let alone a volume to cause ear bleeding. A much simpler way
to make your ears bleed is to use simple devices like
scissors, pins and pencils. If you want internal ear
bleeding, I'm sure that sticking a pencil right through the
ear canal into your eardrum would be just the thing you're
looking for. If you don't want to use your hands for similar
reasons as above, you could ask someone else to do it. Or
you can simply ask them to cut off your ear lobes with
scissors for external bleeding. I believe Picasso was a fan
of this latter method. He could tell you more about it.

Can anyone tell me of a place to get samples that make your
ears bleed?

Well, probably check the chemistry department of the nearest
college. I'm sure you could collect all sorts of samples of
interesting poisonous substances that you could put in your
ears to your desired effect.

Thanks for clearing that bikini sentence up. I figured the
girls would be wearing the bikinis, from having come to the
conclusion from experience that girls usually are the ones
who wear them. I never would have figured you were wearing
multiple bikinis instead. It's the interpretation altering
english language. For example: "there is a picture of a dish
on the table"... Is the picture on the table, or the dish? I
don't know I'm confused. Your example was funnier though.
I'm jealous of your crazy methods to lure females. I took
your advice last time and asked a girl if she liked
aeroplanes and she slapped me, twice.
I've never been to ibiza, only to abaza. I took my wellies
on that trip, but I cannot say for sure whether wellies will
be appropriate for ibiza as I have never been, as I had just
stated before, and as I had just stated "as I had just
stated" a little while after that...

wizards teeth on 2001-09-11 09:44 [#00030656]

It would be possible to wear 6 bikinis at once :

Bikinin Number Size

1 Extra Small

2 Small

3 Medium

4 Extra Medium

5 Large

6 Extra Large

It is funny how extra small bikini is smaller than small
bikini but extra large bikini is larger than large bikini,
is the above order correct, is an extra medium bikini larger
than a medium bikini or is a medium bikini larger than an
extra medium bikini or is extra medium the same as a large
bikini?

I will conduct some experiments.

Phat beatz;

Audiomulch is actually a favorite amongst a lot of
musicians. My soundcard is shit tho, so I can do much with
it.

Soundforge is good for doing stuff to samples. So is
cool-edit.

Reactor is a sweet piece of programming, but it extremely
complex, and difficult to learn

You can make some cook stuff in buzz, but it has such a
shitty sound quality, its not even worth it.

FX2 is also really sweet. Fuck shit up all the way with it.

Many others that don't come to mind right now. Sometimes
even the simplest tricks work wonders (like using the same
kick 5 times in 20 different songs, but using different
effect variations for each channel and each song).

Hope that helps.

You could always sample the vinyl and then reverse the
sample...
