NEW Massive Attack Album

offline regital from Baltimore (United States) on 2002-12-21 22:23 [#00487765]

I downloaded all of the available 100th Window tracks off
soulseek... is that all the tracks? 9 or so tracks. I
thought the Mos Def "I Against I" track was off the new
album... it wasn't included.

where can you get these for mac?!!!!

did you know that they had over 2000 tracks to choose
from!!!
holy shite!!!!
i can't imagine recording that many int eh studio!!!

Really? 2000 tracks? This is just my impression from the
first listening but the album is OK, Mezzanine is way
better. The only new songs by them that kicked ass are I
against I[which isn't even on the Soulseek album] and
Antistar.

I against I is on the blade 2 soundtrack

DEFINITELY legit tracks... the tracklisting and vocalists
match up with Dotmusic and the composition is obviously
Massive Attack.

I also think it's weird that if they were choosing from 2000
tracks why only 9 would be used. 9 so-so tracks:(

i haven't listened yet but i heard that there're a lot of
FAKE tracks out there. i can't remember the tracklisting but
it might be more than 9, i'm not sure. anyway, the mos def
song was forr blade 2 OST (released almost a year ago) but
he's collaborating them again for the FIFTH (not fourth)
album. anyway just wait for february, sheesh.

I like this album very much, Massive Attack never
disappointed me.
I'll buy the original for sure.

I'll be getting it on vinyl. I won't DL it till I have the
vinyl. I don't do that for most releases, but Massive
Attack's back catalogue is good enough to justify it.

Is anyone dissapointed that Sinead O'Connor is on 3 tracks?
I'm not a big fans of hers, I think she has a very
distinctive voice which detracts from Massive Attack's
music.

Oh and I heard the new album is more electronic influenced
rather than their raw/live sound,is this true?

I like it, the tracks with Sinead in particular.

No protection is good. More ambient than Protection, but
quite noisey too. Good background music, but not for
sleeping.

Yes, it has really more electronic influences than in the
past.
Try to listen, track10 - I against I.

offline tolstoyed from the ocean on 2003-01-15 07:03 [#00514794]

well, this new stuff was mainly produced by 3d and he was
the one most into electronic
i havent heard any new stuff yet, but cant wait to get it
i remember when mezzanine came out, i thought it was just
brilliant

im kind of disapointed with only nine tracks on the new one,
i read they done lots of tracks-and they ended up with just
nine
those nine better be great hehe

Prayer for England is a beautiful track. I think Sineads
voice really adds a lot to the album, and indeed, the tracks
that have her colaborating are the best IMO.
