do you think it would give a good effect to connect some surround 5.1 speakers from a computer to a normal radio ? i want to make something like this, but i wanted to ask if anyone made this yet. there's no problem with a surround decoder, because i want to buy some spekers wit h built-in decoder. what do you think ?

i know that there wouldn't be any effects, but it would be cool to place every speaker in another corner...

nope, i said it, that in the speakers i want to buy there's a built-in decoder
if you connect it to a stereo source it will split it onto all speakers

you need something to power all those speakers! if you want surround sound you need a amp that supports it and they cost over a grand.
i have an technics 800 watt amp; one bin on each side of my computer (tweeter, mid, and 12 inch sub); a 10 inch sub and 6x9 beside the couch. and in the bathroom i have a 10 inch sub and a 6x9.
on top of my amp i put in 8 toggle switches so i can switch the auxillary speakers between the bathroom and the couch!

go and buy: rca jacks electrical tape speaker wire
use one thing as your source... like your computer use a 3.55mm rca jack that splits to a Y with normal male rca jack ends
attach to an amp that has aux in and aux out put a normal rca jack into aux out and plug the other end into another amp...etc

that wasn't any help. i haven't some good speakers and i haven't a second amp. and the idea is not bad. but i would split the source cable and stick it in each aux in of every amp...

its really simple then, splice your speaker wires to ones that are self contained so you dont fry your amp!
