i wonder if did you guys noticed that 'windowlicker'
contains a sample from kraftwerk's 'tour de france'
or maybe i'm just slow...:-)

"i-have-a-very-rare-unreleased-red-calx-track-on-a-promo-(4
don't tell me this is just a made up
-copies-only)-CD-which-james-gave-me" kind of story

:D

:)

'you'll find out about that after hanging around for a while
'
hmm...still don't get it...i've started to 'hanging around'
here a few months ago, but haven't registered till now.
anyway
this sample is not something big really, just as Psytech
has said, you can hear it at the beginning of the trac
basically, so song by mr James is still unique ;). But at
least we can learn some more bout his 'inspirations', not
only from interviews, etc.
mr James, I hope you wont hate me due to this thread ;))

and i think ur just on high drugs to say something like
that...
thats so uncomparable!

i don't hear it either..
listened both tracks a couple of times..
no similarities imo..

what i did notice is that 'leave home' by the chemical
brothers contains a sample of kraftwerks 'ohm sweet ohm'

quite funny :)

sorry erm...what part of windowlicker is sampled?

offline Silesian from Gliwice (Poland) on 2002-12-18 11:05 [#00484832]

ok. here we go again :/
i don't know, maybe some of you have a shorter version of
'tour'...Mine is 6'46'', and if yours is the same or near,
and you still cant find similarity (at the very beginningof
both tracks), i'm afraid you have a hear problem (nothing
personal, visiting a doctor should be helpfull :)

offline Psytech from Arvika (Sweden) on 2002-12-18 11:10 [#00484835]

I dont think its sampled.. its just some simularieties..
maybe not inspiered of kraftwerk at all... but you should
hear it!
