if you listen very carefully at the beginning of this
track, you can hear very faint voices....

does anyone know who the voice/s is/are, and what they're
saying?

This has been puzzling me for years

I seem to recall some arcade sounds going on in the
background before the start of the track. Apparently Trent
is quite the vintage arcade fan, so it's probably him and a
few mates mucking about on said machines.

"the best thing about life is knowing that you put it all
together." that's the rumor anyway.

also, in nin's "physical":
throughout the song, recordings of trent's now deceased
dog maise barking can be heard. and, at about 3:49 in the
song, you can hear in the background a very slowed-down
bark, followed by "ow!...fucker!" (also slowed down; you'd
have to speed this up with a computer to hear it properly).
this is a recording of what happened when maise bit band
member sean beaven's hand.

I don't know. But if you want to do more research on it, you
might want to look into the song Crystal Japan by
David Bowie. A Warm Place is pretty much a cover of
that.

it's an accidental cover.. trent said he hadn't heard the
song in over 10 years, but when he heard it after TDS came
out he felt pretty bad about it. i'm sure bowie didn't mind
though. anyway, the songs are very similar but they are
notably different as well.

Bonus note: Maise died in Columbus, Ohio. :)
