I was thinking about it when i heard the Bodenstandig album
last night...the beats on RNAY on MGRBL3 and Taking Control
are very similar. And i also thought that the "string pads"
on Bogdan's Samurai Math Beats are almost the same as on
Drukqs.

Do you think RDJ is inspired by other artist on his own
label? I mean, he obviously likes the artists, otherwise he
wouldn't have signed them....

Totally, I totally think that he is inspired by people on
his label. In an interview I read a while ago, he said one
of his favorite things to do was to go driving listening to
peoples demo's.

I dont think he would intentionally try and sound like
another person on Rephlex. But when you listen to a certain
style of music long enough, it rubs on you and you use it
subconciously. Look at composers in the Romantic period.

ESPECIALLY THOSE OLD 8BIT SOUNDING ARCADE SONGS!

I said that last yeaqr..some of the beats on Drukqs are
quite reminiscint of Samuri Math Beats and Boku..but the
production on Drukqs is like 100 X...but then again..the
tracks from Drukqs have supposedly been kicking around for a
few years..maybe the Rephlex artists are privy to RDJ's
vaulted stuff..so who inspired who...maybe someone like
J-HOK can shad a light on this

yeah, but then he've also said that his main influence was
himself. but i guess it's hard to stay focused on your own
style especially when you live in a house full of other
musicians....
