can anyone explain why (if possible) that certain artists (like Autechre and AFX) have moved from melodic, dark techno/idm tracks to random noise/pure electro sounds tracks?
will they come back to the other side?
not that I've got a problem with it, hell my current top album is Whitehouse Peter Suttcliffe... but its always bothered me...

people change m8. The same thing gets stale if you do it all the time.
I think it's evolution for every artist to move onto something new and different each time. They don't loose their roots, just grow for themselves. I'm find with that I think.

the master tapes for drukqs and confield were ruined and instead of abandoning the albums they decided to just release them "as is" and hope to sell a few copies

I like the more melodic, older stuff myself, and sometimes wish they would give us some more similiar material

don't you realise that most of the music you are listening to (me included) is de-bassing everything the music industry stands for - don't be so 'effin elitist.... for that is the dark side.

i dunno...drukqs has always seemed melodic to me.. sure, there are more harsh drill tracks..where the melody is more subtle..and odd noise tracks.. but i think the piano bits even it out

i'm not dissin the noise tracks/artists... i am a devotee to them myself (jeez).... i just want to know your thoughts on the subject. i.e. is this strain of music going to develop through the noise and come to something new, or are all the artists going to either stick with the noise or go back to their early stuff?

i don't think drukqs is any noisier than HAB or rdj album, just more refined (and mixed w/ new interests in music)
drukqs has been debated to death already though, you'd do yourself some service to search for the word "drukqs" on this board and read some of the long debates
